19-47 (40.4%) from 3 and 11-14 (78.5%) from FT in his last 11 games.
Watched this entire game. At 18 years old, Giddey is basically the polished version of Satoransky we got after his rookie season, but more aggressive and willingly to attack in isolation. Has stepback 3s and natural driving ability going either way.
He’s a top 5 prospect in this draft above guys like Kuminga/Barnes/Moody.

Impressive stuff Nat.
How does his season compare to Lamelo and Hampton last year?

To add to the discussion, statistically he has done worse than Lamelo did last year in the same league although quite close in a few categories (rebounds/assists/TOs/steals).

Nat, Really been confused about why Giddey hasnt been mocked in the top 15. He looks exceptional for his age.
This is where I am at. I really like Suggs, but man Mobley changes an entire teams outlook assuming they have sufficient guard play. Coaches have a phone book of strategies dealing with different types of bigs because the defense really works from the rim out. Mobley immediately forces a team to shoot contested 3's, hope they get him in foul trouble, or hope our shots arent falling so they can play in transition a lot (See our game against Jazz/Gobert). Otherwise, the other team is mostly SOL and they have to hope our scorers are cold.
He's one of the main reasons I was leary about any Beal to GSW trade package featuring the 2022 Twolves pick. You put Mobley next to KAT... Oh man that team could make the leap to .500 in year 1.
doclinkin wrote:But picking a smart Big Man who plays both ends? One who is not lost in the Pick and Roll but actually drops to stay with a guard to stifle penetration. That's hard for me to pass up. The combo of smarts, athletic size and coordination are really tough to find. If you can select a Big who reads the floor well, yeah I'm taking him.

His start to the season was mediocre. He's dramatically improved during this season. I don't know whether or not that was the case with LaMelo. Both are such unusual players. I still don't know what Giddey's NBA position will be and how he's going to fill out - probably as a point forward.

Good comparisons. Giddey isn’t the scorer that Lamelo is. He might be the better overall player though (during NBL time). Both of them started drastically trending up after the first 5-7 games. It’s worth pointing out that Giddey is younger than both Lamelo(couple months) and Hampton (by almost a full year). Hampton actually got worse as the year went along.
It’s very possible that Giddey is flying way under the radar sort of like Lamelo Ball did after he switched his shooting mechanics midway through the year. No way Wiseman and Edwards should’ve been picked above him.
Last 10 games per36:
13 points 7.75 rebounds 7.75 assists 1.67 steals 0.73 blocks 3.3 turnovers on 45/38/78 shooting.
Last 5 per36:
14 points 8.2 rebounds 9.4 assists 0.9 steals 0.6 blocks 3.1 turnovers on 47/41/75 shooting.

Great stuff Nat! You beat me to it by a few hours. I spent this morning watching a good amount of footage on him and came to the same conclusion... he's a mid-lottery pick at least!
He's a pure PG at 6-8. Ultra skilled at 18? He's well ahead of Sato. The shot coming together is the final piece. I think he's a better prospect than Ricky Rubio was coming out in retrospect. About as low a floor as you can get for a foreign kid.

He may defend 3s eventually but this guy is running your offense in time.

Even better having a legit point forward?

It's weird the way he makes plays. He'll look flat-footed, lull you to sleep, and all of a sudden casually zip a perfect pass setting up a teammate for a layup. Wait what? Just don't see other people do it that way. That's a reason I want to see if the things he does works against better athletes. Also a good-looking kid that can probably sell some merchandise around the world.

Yeah, I like Davion Mitchell. He'd be a trade back target for me if we slipped or missed the top slots. If I could get him and Queta and a future pick, I'd feel great about this team. Queta reads to me like a 7' Draymond Green.
Would the Knicks want the #4-9 pick for their 15 and 21 and future considerations?
Yup.
Trade back if we're not in the top-4.
Shoots, (they say that here in Hawaii--not sure about the they but I'll give this young whipper snapper jargon a go) I'd be happy with a trade back and JUST MITCHELL. I'd take the best guy not drafted, say Aaron Wiggins, whoever declares that I I like.
Wiggs is better than he looked at Maryland. LaRon Profit part deux,
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Man, Suggs with a nightmare opening in the championship game. Two misses, a turnover and two quick fouls in the first 3 minutes and now he has to sit for a while.

Baylor was preparing for this all year. This is no surprise.
Such a rough start for Suggs. Big mental mistakes.

This intensity is just nuts. Baylor has a legit NBA backcourt out there.

Things I didn’t realize: Corey Kispert is awesome. His effort is top shelf and he’s actually not a bad defender. Reminds me of Bertans.

Or Joe Harris.
