I'm torn with this.

I'd like to see them get extra picks etc, but also would like them to take that jumbo tackle Penei Sewell or WR Devonta Smith at #2

I'd also they not keep Darnold, but if they aren't sold on Fields or Wilson, why burn a #2 pick on a guy they don't think is "the answer"?

If they trade down and are lucky and it's the Falcons, they could have pick 5, but even in this scenario, I think both of those guys would probably go 3 and 4.

Well, I mean, historically speaking, some team is gonna want to give up a ton to move up to 2 to draft Fields

Look at the Wentz trade from 2016: Eagles sent the 8th pick, a third and a fourth in that draft, a future first, and a future 2nd

The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th didn't turn into much (there were really good players available, it's just a super crap shoot at that point), but the two firsts turned into Jack Conklin and Deshaun Watson. If we want to sh*t on the Eagles even further, you can point out that they traded up from 13 to 8, and the Dolphins took Laremy Tunsil with that 13th pick, so they could've drafted Tunsil and Watson, but that's kind of besides the point

I think the Jets have a lot of interesting ways they can go this offseason. Personally, I say either stay put and take Fields or trade back to a team that offers them a lot. That usually works out good for the team doing the trading back, I think.

Is Fields a fit for that Shannahan style offense the Jets will likely run?
I have no idea; I'm not that into scouting college football guys.
He seems talented and has a pretty big arm, but Ohio State doesn't produce a bunch of pro QB's, does it? Or not many good ones.

Not really any colleges consistently produce NFL QBs though

I think he's a good fit in just about any system. Ceiling is a Russel Wilson/DeShaun Watson type. Very accurate, makes good reads, has a good arm, and can run. He just suffers from being compared to Trevor Lawrence.
BaF Lakers:

Darius Garland/Cory Joseph
Klay Thompson/Shaedon Sharpe
Keldon Johnson/De'Andre Hunter
Evan Mobley/Tari Eason
Nic Claxton/Draymond Green

Bench: Leonard Miller, Jett Howard, Markquis Nowell, Kennedy Chandler, Day'Ron Sharpe

I guess the question is "Is he good enough to draft at #2", when there will be QB available next year or the year after, around pick...12-15 and then hopefully, the Jets are picking near 20 2 years from now.

I guess this stuff has been hashed out before Saleh was hired. I'm good either way.

I'm actually hoping Jets trade down and take Trey Lance. I like him better over Fields and Wilson.

Tends to get stuck on his first read alot and zach wilson def wouldnt be out of play if they're going qb.

I don't like him better than Fields or Wilson at this point, but I would love it if this happened. Lance is a massive talent, and being able to get one of the top-4 QBs in this draft via trading down is probably my best case scenario fantasy right now.

I would give up so much for him. The financials that people quote to say it'd be a bad idea aren't seeing the forrest through the trees. He's a true franchise QB, and only 25 years old. Apparently he was in Edgewater last night.

I'm not getting my hopes up, but even with his salary, this is a QB you HAVE to acquire if he's available. Being in NJ and now hearing tonight that he likes Saleh is getting my hopes up more than they should be. He should never be on the table, and the only reason this is even being discussed is because the Texans owner is your typical Texas racist right out in the open.

Watson is the real deal. Period.

I would trade for him in a heartbeat. He's an elite talent that you never see get traded. You don't get this opportunity many times.

I would offer #2, 2022 Seattle 1st, and 2023 Jets 1st and a 2021 3rd

Then trade Sam Darnold for a 2/3 and rebuild around Watson

Without question. Wilson should pull a Eli at this point. Jets organization is officially QB hell.

Nobody wants to touch Watson right now. And from the Jane Doe's stories hes one twisted fkr I wouldn't want on my team.

C'mon down Zach Wilson.
There's something about an underdog that really inspires the unexceptional.
