Defense needs to be improved in the 2nd half!

And this is a back to back. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if we come out and really turn it around in the 2nd half. I highly doubt it.

It's just LMA tonight though, and he basically took DeAndre's minutes.

Nash has started going way more small ball with Green at the 5 this game though, and it's killing us defensively. That's been a little hard to understand. Or when Nic is out there, he also put Alize Johnson out there, two guys that clog up the paint.

He's not really optimizing Nic's effectiveness. Nic and Green together at the 4/5 is a good combo.

Unfortunately beggars can't be choosers. With all the injuries we still need TLC to fill in minutes.

The Claxton stans are getting out of hand. Hes a -10 tonight with 0 points and missed both free throws.

Johnson and Aldridge have both been better.

You guys act like playing him is such magic elixir that will fix all our problems.

I mean, we're down 5 rotation players, what can we really do here? Kyrie/Harris/Green/LMA/Claxton/Brown are really the only legit rotation-level players right now. Chiozza, Alize, and TLC are getting major minutes, and while Alize gave us a nice spark, these are all G-League call up type players.

DJ may have a role here. Green at the 5 has been a disaster defensively this game. If you want to give Claxton and Aldridge rest, then let DJ come in for a few.

Truth is we basically have no idea how to play without James Harden.

Defense is subpar as usual.

But now we don't have the offense to make up for. Kyrie basically has to do everything. Nobody else has any idea what to do.

To be fair, Nash is putting him next to a redundant frontcourt partner. He's tinkering again, oh boy.

Yeah but right now we need guys that can score. Aldridge and Johnson have offensive moves that can help us.

Claxton can only make wide open dunks.

Kyrie is a -10 and Chiozza is a +5. Does that mean Chiozza should play more than Kyrie? Single game +/- is the most useless statistic in the world.

Nic is still by far our best defensive player, and he only played 8 minutes in a half we gave up 67 points to one of the worst offensive teams in the league. He should play more, but he shouldn't play next to other guys that also clog the paint like Alize. They shouldn't be on the floor together at the same time.

I'd say we need stops more than anything actually. We gave up 67 points at half time to the #21 offense.

And why not play Aldridge and Claxton together? They complement each other pretty well.

I don’t even get it. That pairing makes perfect sense.

Exactly. Nic doesn't have to be a 5 since he's all over the place on the defensive end.
