At this point with 22 games left it is clear this team is just going to hover at the 500 mark or a few games below 500 which is good enough to make the playoffs and get the sixers or nets in the first round. Not great for the team IMO but most fans will be thrilled just to see this team in the playoffs.

I know you're the negative fan on the board and that's fine, but **** off with this ****. You know for a fact that this isn't true, no one is applauding an 8 seed here

I guess you don't listen to any sports radio where just about all the calls about the Celtics are positive and they can do no wrong. Celtics fans are hands down the easiest on their team and the fact that they made the ECF 3 out of the last 4 years gives this team a free pass for next couple of years. I also believe there are quite a few people that think this team can beat the nets in a series.

You can't possibly confuse this board with a bunch of positive callers on a sports radio channel Joe. This is the board where we beat a bad team by 30 and at least 4 or 5 members have to remind everyone not to be happy about it in the post game thread. I can guarantee no one here is betting on us to beat the Nets in a series either, the difference is some of us aren't afraid to hope for an upset even though we understand 20:1 we're going to be disappointed. Some of us will always hope to be the 01 Pats and beat a 17 pt spread in the superbowl and some of us will always try to piss in everyone's cornflakes, that's just the make up of a fan base, I'd just rather not be the guy that everyone feels the need to eat breakfast with an umbrella around.

This sucks about EF. we are so close to being a 4th seed or a 10th seed. No silver lining in this at all. Except maybe more playing for Romeo and Nesmith.

Regardless, I still want to see what Boston does. Do they fight tonight? Do they come out the Gates like a Bull on Parade?? Will they move the ball? in the all important 4th quarter??

Boston really needed Fournier's offensive spark, no question, But damn we are still talented enough.

SHOW ME WHAT YOU ARE MADE OF TONIGHT ! Especially you TATUM.

How long has TT been out? Are NBA healthy and safety protocols supposed to take that long or was he suspended by the team?

I think there's more to the story. TT hasn't exactly been in great shape since he started here I'm going to assume he's not even remotely in game shape right now either.

If Luke can do the one thing Theis could not/would not do and that is hit his open 3s I will love him. Embiid will stay in the paint all day unless Luke hits his 3 point shots. Don't have to be great at shooting, just a viable threat. Pick and pop baby..

Fantasy basketball has him listed out for "conditioning" so I imagine he's still getting his wind back from covid before getting back on the floor. I'm speculating that if more were on the line and he was of more value to the team he'd be back already and playing short minutes.

They can still win this game, just play smart on both sides of the ball.

I think Tristan will look better in a back up role than he did as in a starting role, regardless of anything else he is a good offensive rebounder and a willing defender that will do better against back ups than he does against front line centers. Still far from great but a better role.

Luke's career high came against Embiid I believe when he was still a Knick. Just need to drag him outside and splash 3s

I don't see how the entire team is allowed to play if Fournier just tested positive and was playing with a bunch of teammates the whole game.

Almost never do you see someone get exposed to covid and then just one day later test positive, no?

I'm not a conspiracy guy but this COVID protocol is a bunch of BS. They are just using it to screw certain teams. I mean unless Evan is partying after games it just makes zero sense to single him out

If they are following the CDC recommended guidelines they are not supposed to and should be quarantining. I think the NBA is just testing players daily and if they are negative that day they can play.

Durant has been out a bunch of times because of the protocol and there is nothing more than the NBA wants than the nets in the finals against the Lakers so I am not buying that the NBA is trying to screw certain teams.

Durant has been out because his leg is falling off. It's a nice way to get players rest and not have it look bad. Instead of sitting B2Bs, they can just go into protocol for minutes management

Valid point.

When we got Evan and he missed that first game it ended up being because he had a false positive test result. Maybe something about him makes him prone to false positives, if that's a thing? Jaylens comment makes it sound like he'll be out for a while, but like last time maybe that won't be the case. This is me being hopeful.

Celtics cannot catch a break. they play 2 quality basketball games in a row and then covid protocols hit them again. just ridiculous.

Let’s not forget that Romeo has 5 hours and change to be disqualified from this game for some reason.

Sucks about Fournier.

I have no idea how the spread has stayed at -1.5 for Philly, even with the news that Fournier is out. Easy money if you take Philly to cover.
