I've watched several rocket games. Watched this guy as well. When he's on. HE IS ON. Definition of a Streak shooter. So I like that part. He has confidence in his shot, and will launch at will.
But again, well see what happens under fire. All things are tested in the playoffs. And In a Laker uniform. I've seen alot of good, quality streak shooters lose the fire when they dress up in Purple and Gold.
I'm hoping he comes in with the flames

2 summers ago, Rob signed 2 really good shooters who averaged 39% from 3 for their career at that time.. that’s higher than Ben’s career average.... their names? Trou Daniels and Cook...

Just thinking out loud. If Mclemore stays with the lakers next season for cheap, they could possibly move KCP. And if Schroder doesn't sign....that could give the possibility of signing Drummond

Is Ben anything better than Lance, guitarist, Stephenson?

And, we don't wait anymore on potential buyouts ?

Wondering why guaranteed deal is offered at this point instead of giving time for trial

the lakers still have roughly 400k under the hard cap

if pelinka sees an opportunity to get an upgrade (or if someone who's expiring goes down for the season), there's still an opportunity to waive them and grab another vet min contract.

this would be:
- wes (depends on whether lakers want his non-bird rights to re-sign him)
- mckinnie (future years are unguaranteed)
- kieff (he'd be getting vet min offers anyway, no need for his early bird rights)
- dudley (same as kieff)
- drummond (we're not re-signing him without using our mle exception anyway)
- mclemore (yes, if he doesn't perform, he could just get cut)

i'm excluding schroder, caruso and tht because it's obvious the lakers would prefer having their bird rights over another body

I’m a long time believer in McLemore. Happy he’s here.

Pelicans are trying to sign and trade Lonzo. Maybe we can work something out with the Pelicans and send Schroder to New Orleans.

Lakers cant accept a signed and traded player IMO. They will be hard capped and that will stop them from keeping Caruso and THT, who are the priorities.

Best bet is to go over cap to move Schröder in a S+T for an already contracted player or set of players.

What if CP3 wanted an S+T to finish career with Lakers with 100/4?
Lakers would be hard-capped. Probably need to trade off Kuzma and Schroeder S+T to make it happen and wouldn't bring back Drummond or Harrell. Would need 3 more vet min players.

CP3, KCP, LeBron, Davis, Gasol
Caruso, THT, McLemore, Markieff, LAL FRP
vet min, vet min, McKinnie, Dudley, vet min

Would it be worthwhile?

Any move that takes the ball out of Lebrons hands is not optimal. As good as Paul is, Lebron is just a better PG when it matters because he’s almost a foot taller and can see over the entire defense. Paul isn’t going to give up that level of control of an offense either, I think he’ll end his career in Phoenix.

Interesting teade proposed in trade thread.

Lakers 21 FRP + Kuzma for Malik Beasley

I think it's a good choice

Beasley’s legal issues are scary, he makes KCP’s ankle monitor games look like child’s play.

Too much. Beasley is a dime a dozen chucking guard who got a shot to put up numbers on a terrible team. Put Ben McLemore on the Wolvez and give him 35 mins a night and green light to shoot and he gives you 90% the same production at the fraction of his salary.

Was always a role player on the NUGS and even was relegated in the year he was traded. You don't give up Kuzma AND a low 20's pick for 50 games worth of volume scoring on a bad team. You can get a better player than Beasley in the draft, it's a deep one.

Kuzma is more than enough.

Why would we trade two 1st round picks?

Plus the concern is Schroder leaving. It's looking likely he will leave, because this team is such a mess. I'd rather have him leave anyway. Dude just doesn't fit with LBJ and AD.

Kuzma+McKinnie or Schroeder (SnT) for Rubio might be nice. He's the type of guard that adds a ton more playmaking and could also work together with Schroeder if Lakers want to keep him over Kuzma.

Rubio, KCP, LeBron, Davis, Gasol
Caruso, THT, Matthews, McLemore, Markieff, Harrell, Pick 20
+ Schroeder or Kuzma

Beasley is a much better fit than Rubio.

I'd pull the trigger on that trade if that was the best offer I could get for Kuzma.
