Re: Welcome George Hill
Yup.
If Hill played like how he did last season, OKC would probably have gotten more than a couple of second rounders for Hill. So it was prudent for them to not trade him until the last minute when they’d have complete information on all the possible offers.

Re: Welcome George Hill
Rotating lineup:
The Sixers are obviously exhausted. When Hill is fit we should rotate guys resting depending on opponent.
Pg. If a team is bad at the point Simmons rest. (Hill starts)
Sg. If a team has bad shooting guards, Curry gets a rest. (Hill starts at the 2.)
Sf. Team is weak at sf. Hill gets a rest. (Thybulle gets the start)
Pf. Team weak at the 4. Harris rest. (Simmons starts at the 4, Hill at the point.)
C. Right now the hardest to fill. But possible
Hill at the point, Curry at the 2, Green at the 3, Simmons at the 4, Harris at the 5.
Just a thought to help the team with fatigue down the stretch.

So... doesn’t seem great he’s not going to get much time actually playing with the team before the playoffs start.

Just LOL!

When a player is traded don’t they go through a rather rigorous physical with the team getting the player? WTH!

He looks fine to me. Is Doc **** with us? He hurt his thumb, it doesn't take that long to get your conditioning back.

We have to have some time table in mind. It would be suicide to go into the playoffs with Hill having no time to get acclimated with the team.

Sounds like Doc knew the severity of the injury
Been wrong before but seems like they’re going to let this season play out and move Ben and/or Tobi in off season
Fans won’t object if it’s on the back of an early exit

Ben not Tobi. Man the hate this guy gets in here is unbelievable to me. Tobi is an all star caliber player.

Remember when the treadmill kept breaking down the year we traded for Andrew Bynum? That was one of the many excuses the team was giving us. I mean....a treadmill....No...nothing surprises me after that. I'm beginning to really dislike George Hill and he did nothing to deserve this.

Re: Welcome George Hill
Hill is coming off thumb surgery and Doc is often not the most informed coach about injuries. Nothing I've heard seems to indicate an unexpected complication or new injury. My guess is that it is not the use of the thumb that is limiting, but that it has to heal to a point that re-injury is not a huge risk with guys swiping at the ball and things like that, very east to wreck a digit that was recently operated upon.

Re: Welcome George Hill
I was thinking about this the other day.
I think we should and its very very likely that we stick with our starting unit.
Then imagine how good a Hill-Milton backcourt to solidify our second unit. With Tobi as our last resort option (his post game is nicely improving)
It’s like with out starting unit, our backcourt is not that good so we frequently resort to our last resort option. But we have a very reliable last resort option with Biid. So yes continue to pair Biid and Ben and don’t stagger them. Ben has his flaws and he’s effectivity as a star for me is reliant on Embiid.
Then with our second unit, our backcourt is more competent where we should have less frequency to settle for our last resort option. Which I think should be Tobi.
Then to close out games, we could combine the best of both worlds. With Hill-Milton backcourt while having Tobi-Ben-Biid trio.

Re: Welcome George Hill
Doc apparently had the same injury as a player, didn't have the surgery to fix it (might be a newer procedure), definitely sounds like risk of re-injury is the delaying factor. We should definitely grab some sort of ball handler to help with our shaky depth there until Hill starts playing, or in the worst case, if he doesn't.
Hill does have some incentive to perform well this year since only a small part of his contract is guaranteed next year.
