Re: The most beautiful technique move in basketball?
I think its pretty hard to choose this, and I cant separate the play from the player, I dont think the mid range fadeaway is the most beautiful play, but Kobe, MJ, Dirk doing it make it the top 1 for me.
So, 1st is the fadeaway
theres no difference for me in the off the dribble 3 and iso play, both are extremely beautiful for me, so its 2a, 2b
and last I got the stepback 3, no problem against it, but just not a big fan.
OBS: none of those would be the first if Kyries circus finishing were among the options

I don't care about the topic, but I gave you a +1 for the cool animations.

I'm happy this was the first post, as it was my first thought too when I read the OP.
These moves always have me in awe, love them. The composure, patience, footwork, and in the end the effortless finish.

Re: The most beautiful technique move in basketball?
Dirk's fadeaway was effective, but it looked horrible compared to Jordan's.
LeBron looks like a football player that got thrown into a bball scrimmage, he has always had an awkward look IMO, ugly jumpshot, ugly post moves. Yeah, he is good, but he is not smooth like Jordan or Kobe... even his dunks are garbage, powerful, but not pretty at all.
Jordan's fadeaway and Hakeem's dream shake are the most aesthetically pleasing moves I've seen. I have always liked Kareem's skyhook too, every centre since that has tried the skyhook just can't replicate that smooth action..... one foot, roll the arm out and roll the ball out of the hand. Every other centre will jump step and try to do it off 2 feet, they'll pretty much fling the ball at the hoop with their wrists.... horrible!

Kareem skyhook should be an option. That's my vote.

It’s amazing to me how much flack I get when I post that James is not a natural basketball player. He is an athlete that plays basketball. The game is not as intuitive to him as some of the other all time greats.

I think Kobe and Jordan are up there for their jumpshots. Ray Allen also.
Ironically, some of the most beautiful NBA offensive moves I've seen came from LeBron during his most inefficient playoffs (2015).

It's probably just the way your brain puts together the image. LeBron is far broader and more muscular than a guy you'd ever expect to be as fluid as him.
That's the beauty of his driving game, just a bull charging through and puts up these feathery layups. The transition from football player to basketball player comes at the release point. It looks like it shouldn't be possible.
I've played basketball a long time and seen plenty slim 6'4-6'7 guys with beautiful looking moves. I don't think I've seen a guy LeBrons size with that much fluidity.

I find the skill needed to create clean looks in such tight contested spaces fantastic to watch.
Dream shake and up and under for me.

I'm feeling Kareem's skyhook here.
