Why tf would Monty not match Ayton mins with Gobert? Does he think there’s even a chance of Saric boxing out Gobert?

Eh, I kind of think minute matching is a little silly, it lets the other team determine what you do. Are the Jazz minute matching Gobert with Ayton? No. So why should we minute match?

Also, Gobert got one bucket with Saric on the floor. It's not like he took over and dominated.

Are you watching the game? He drew fouls, jump balls and players overcompensating to box him out led to other Utah players crashing the glass.

It’s simply not needed. As for Utah matching mins with Ayton, it should be obvious that Gobert is the far superior player. He’s the best or 2nd best player.
