I think Josh Christopher is a prospect who's really being slept on. I see a lot of rankings having him as a late 1st/early 2nd rounder

we need a guard who can create his own shot, and Christopher can do just that. his 3PT% wasn't great: 30.5%, but his FT% is encouraging: 80%

I think part of the reason his stock fell was because he only played 15 games due to injury. he was a 5-star recruit too. IMO he's the type of prospect worth taking a shot on

cam Thomas is another guy who's like Josh Christopher as well. not sure if they are just 6th men at the next level cause they can't really playmake and tend to stop the ball though. wouldn't mind taking a shot at them

I guess he can be a Marcus Smart type player for us next to RJ - Randle where you can assign him to defend smaller players

If you think he can reach Donovan Mitchell levels on offense draft him yesterday

his wingspan is reportedly 6-5, which would be +3. enough to guard both backcourt positions. he's got great feet defensively and does well avoiding screens

+3 is nice but 6-5 is hardly impressive, Donovan Mitchell and Norman Powell both had near 7-0

yeah, both may end up being bench scorers (maybe in the Clarkson mold) rather than starters, but definitely worth taking a shot on IMO. we need the scoring

sure, doesn't have the wingspan of some of those guys, but 6'5 is enough to guard both backcourt spots

FVV has a ws of just 6'2 and he's considered a a good defender. defense isn't just about wingspan, having good feet is more important. effort (as we've seen this yr) plays a big part, and Mitchell definitely gives great effort

When are we going to learn. If the Knicks take Boston higher than expected. We should all jump for joy. That means they have the inside track on player that is being overlooked. What's the point of all these Kentucky connections and insight if we don't use them?

so you're cool drafting any Kentucky player over players that may be better just b/c of the connection factor? connections work both ways, they can also be detrimental due to lack of objectivity

actually no. we didn't draft maxey with our lotto pick did we? The point is if you see us draft someone from Kentucky a bit higher than they usually are It's because we have inside info most teams don't. Hence the IQ pick. If we wind up drafting Boston with the Dallas pick I would wait it out before judgment. As there is a reason we drafted him

and if the pick fails, it looks like the FO made a biased decision

I'm a Boston fan, but I think there will be better players w/ that pick (likely 20-23 range) that can help sooner

quite possibly but I'll reiterate my point, if we taking a Kentucky player higher than expected as in the IQ case, It's because we have intimate knowledge of something the rest of the league doesn't know. So I wouldn't bash it until you see the results.

like we had intimate knowledge of Obi b/c he was represented by CAA (specifically Leon's son, who is part of Obi's rep team)....

bias is a thing and it's a slippery slope

Actually the verdict is still out on Obi as he really doesn't get enough minutes to make a proper judgement on whether he is any good. But I see what your doing. As my point was don't rush to judgement if we take a Kentucky player early as we should know more than other teams. But you would rather argue why that doesn't make sense. So have a good day.

We are moving back to Mitchell range. He will be a good backup for Elf next year

I'm just saying that objectivity matters when evaluating players and it's a slippery slope taking players that you have connections w/ because there is an inherent bias

could they land an undervalued player? sure, but could they also draft a bust? also very possible. We took Knox, another Kentucky guy Granted, we don't know if Leon would've taken Knox, but Calipari was comparing him to Tatum....so isn't that "inside knowledge"?

I don’t care about too many dudes in the 20s anyway so if they take a flyer on Boston there, I’m fine with it. None of these dudes will be playing under Thibs anyway might as well just swing for home runs

good chance Boston will be there w/ the Pistons pick tho

2nd round is where he's projected right now + teams picking in the back of the 1st round are mostly contenders who want players who can help them win now....Boston ain't that player; he's a project

Toppin was supposed to help us win now and he’s a 23 year old project. I’d rather just throw some chances on a young kid at least. Jaden McDaniels was supposed to be a top 10 pick and was terrible in the ncaa, few here wanted him, and he’s now showing some flashes after going in the late 1st, that’s about the category I see Boston in. Maybe by the time these kids hit age 20 they’ll turn into something

yeah, the draft can be a crapshoot

Boston looked pretty bad this past yr, and I was someone who hyped him up big time heading into the college season. would rather take Josh Christopher, another 5-star recruit, who looked much better than Boston and is more physically mature

I like Boston and would be fine taking him, but would much rather take him at ~33 than ~21

DX’s new mock has Davion Mitchell going #7 and has us picking Scottie Barnes at #10. Bouknight going at #17. If we take Scottie Barnes over Bouknight bruh..

And it looks like Davion is starting to become a pipe dream now. Man I was on this guy since February and nobody was talking about him now he’s going lottery smh

On the bright side they got us taking Ayo with the Mavs pick

here’s the link for DX’s newest mock and I’d definitely hate drafting Scotty Barnes at 10. Much rather have Bouknight or Giddey there. I might be more into Cam Thomas at 10 than Barnes tbh. We’re so desperate for a bucket getter that I don’t see how drafting Barnes makes sense.
