Johnny Firpo wrote:Luka was never really in this, to be honest. If you start the season bad individually, and the team takes a lot of time to climb above .500, that's not something you can overcome as an MVP candidate. He is fringe I guess, but it doesn't really matter what he does from here on out, that's not gonna be his year. Jokic on the other can lock this up in the next two-three weeks.

I think it all goes to last month for Jokic, as he has LAL, UTA, BKN, LAC, NYK.. With UTA and BKN being b2b game. If Denver can get positive record from those games, and also beat LAL and LAC it couls get them to Top3

Gobert is very clearly Utah's MVP, though.

I guarantee Mitchell ends up getting more MVP votes than Gobert.

Maybe, but he shouldn't – and you spoke of ‘deserved’, so how others are voting doesn't really matter in this context.

Is putting the Knicks in talks about other teams' hard schedules making their fans happy? :D

I think everyone should fear that the Lakers catch everybody sleeping on them and catch fire during the playoffs. I remember the '01 season where people were sleeping on them cause of the inner turmoil between Shaq and Kobe and also cause the Spurs had the best record and then the playoffs started and boom.

Jokic dismantled my Spurs last night. He was literally moving in slow motion out there, yet he was the best player on the floor by a mile. It’s actually impressive to watch. Larry Bird vibes.

You mean LA's opponents will sleep on them? I don't think anyone will be sleeping on anyone during the playoffs. Teams tend to try a lot harder in the playoffs. The defense is better. And we saw how much better Miami were in the playoffs, despite being very injured they took the Lakers to 6 games.

Talking heads are beginning to bring up Embiid as an MVP candidate if he can play most of the remaining games.

Just because the talking heads are talking about Embiid as MVP doesnt mean his MVP chances have improved. All that means is Embiid is a popular name that plays for a big market so they know talking about Embiid means a better chance at getting more clicks and views.

Jokic as the by far lowest draft pick (#41) to win the NBA MVP award and the first center to win it in the 21st century would be a perfect "against all odds" scenario.

Just heard Ramona Shelbourne (who has an MVP vote) say she'd vote for Jokic if the race ended now on the Lowe Post. Zach said he thinks were heading to a pretty clear Jokic MVP case.

Denver's schedule is easier now and they are a better team post deadline. Jokic was already comfortably ahead. Now the gap will become bigger. Just crossing fingers to remain healthy.
Every else are missing games.
Messi. Jordan. Ali. Bolt. Senna. Serena. Karelin. Phelps. Rossi. Suleymanoglou. The GOATs.

I don’t see anyone that can even come close to Jokic besides giannis. The gap is way too big to be bridged.

Jokic's play style is 60 year old larry bird filling in for a missing player on his grandkids team. Let the kids take most of the shots if they work to get open, dunk it once to prove you can, do a little showing off for fun.
