Bell was ridiculous in the G league. Averaging something like 23-12-4-3-2 on 80% shooting. Could be a nice piece for the future.

Westbrook
Beal
Hachimura
Bell
Gafford

I know we won’t see this combination of players but I’d like it.
Bye bye Beal.

About time! Robinson was destined for foreign exotic leagues...

Now, as a poster noted why the heck was he starting and playing meaningful minutes recently? Per Basketball Reference, Jerome played more minutes this season (305) than Troy Brown (287) :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Robinson always looked like an NBA player with his fluid athletic game, he just couldn't get his shot to go in with any consistency. I always liked Bell, he could be a keeper though someone certainly saw more flaws in him than I do or he wouldn't have been hanging around the G league with no NBA contract.

So the Wizards are serious about chasing a playoff spot....not that we landed a star player, the org believes in Matthews too.

EDIT: One more thought, it appears that Tommy is FINALLY abandoning his dream of fielding an American version of the Euro team and is adding more athletic players.....FINALLY!!

He is a side piece. This is a temporary measure while Gafford is out. We have only our two big plodders at center (Len and Lopez) which limits our pick-and-roll defense exclusively to drop coverage. The team needs one agile, defensively switchable option to give us a different look. I don't think Bell will be around after Gafford gets back.

It wouldn't surprise me if Bell was brought into training camp next year though. I wouldn't mind having him as our 3rd string center on a vet minimum deal.

Feels lazy to me. They signed him because they are familiar with him. Ernie did this too. We're not actually looking to find a diamond in the rough, we're just plugging a temporary hole.

I don't think it's necessarily lazy. If they know Gafford is coming back in a few games and they just need to plug a hole, why not bring back a guy who if familiar with the system and personnel? Gafford is the guy they're trying to develop, not some G-League diamond in the rough.

Thank gawd my eyes no longer need to burn watching Robinson try to play. He was bad at just about everything.

Unfortunate truth. I always liked his game... leading up to the shot. It’s amazing how badly he would miss very makable jumpers/layups once he did all the hard work of getting open. Never seen that from another player before.

Yes, that makes sense.

Of course the guy they really need is Nathan Knight.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

I wish him the best of luck, he could just never find his stroke.

$10 million in career earnings is nothing to sneeze at, I'm sure he'll be fine, so I am not going to feel bad for saying good riddance.
