Kellen Mond has Pace with Mitch Fever.

If Mond is available in round 2 I wouldn’t be opposed to drafting him. Compact release, good arm strength. His problem is the deep ball and reading the field a bit. He is the guy I’ve stated for weeks that I would target. Not saying he is the answer, but I’d draft a QB almost every year if I could.

He sounds like Mitch Trubisky. And Nagy wants to be vertical too in the pass game. Why would you draft him?

Because if you traded back it wouldn’t cost as much as it cost to trade for Trubisky. If the Bears miss on the next D. Watson or Pat Maholmes after round 2 or 3 it is what it is. Especially with all the QBs expected to go early this year. Who do you have in mind?

If I’m Pace I trade back at 20 and get some more picks. Pick Mond in the 2nd.

Shifter saying Seahawks ready to move on from Russ.

His base salary is $17m, sooooo that's a hard pass.

I am so angry with the Bears ownership, I am giving so much thought about pulling a Wayne Larivee and start cheering for the Packers out of spite!! The ownership just sucks! They couldn't win a Super Bowl if they were the only team in the League. This offseason has gone so exactly as I thought it would.

I’m all in for trading all draft picks for Russ.

NOT for a rookie. If anything trade back and pick up the prospects that are being underdrafted.

I’m not against trading for a pick to get the guy you want. Just pick the right guy. QB is the single most important position in the sport, take as many cracks as humanely possible to get it right.

But is the right guy the leftovers from what other teams have already picked? Or did they get beat to the punch by the other teams who have already traded up for the right QB?

That’s what I’m saying, Go get your guy, nothing else seems reasonable to me. That said, I’d be more inclined to wait for a QB and get me some OL help.

Only way I'm cool with it is if they flip that QB to Seattle.

Otherwise we're looking at a year with Dalton then a whole bunch of ??? for a future QB we have no idea about with a GM/HC who should be not that stable.

It could work out but maaaaan that's playing with fire.

That's gonna be all the picks through the end of time lol. It's gonna take 3 1sts to move from 20 to 4. Then Seattle is gonna want more picks to go with the QB. It's gonna end up being 6 1sts and some seconds and such.

If fine with Dalton at this point. I'm actually cool with them not even bothering to sell us any false hope this year

you're kidding yourself if you don't think that signing dalton was intended to persuade the average fan that it was an upgrade from trubisky. that was the feeble hope, at least. 'cause it makes no rational sense that it was for football reasons
the donald, always unpopular, did worse in EVERY state in 2020. and by a greater margin in red states! 50 independently-run elections, none of them rigged

Drafting the Stanford kid somewhere down the line is also an option. Trading up for the 4th is fine though. So is trading down. All options kind of suck at this point. But one thing is for sure, they have to move for a QB in this draft to sell the future to the fans. The franchise is moribund. Clowns.
Brad Biggs wrote:Fields was in the bottom third of the league in too many key statistical metrics for the Bears to commit to the idea of trading down from the first pick for a bundle of future assets and then building around him.
