Wrote this last night. Surprised it fits here. Sad day for hip hop and his family, friends and real fans.

Damn... Another Idol gone who helped me through dark times. I prayed since you were admitted into White Plains Hospital every morning & night for you. Even told my Mother who’s a high believer of God to include you in her prayers. I told her if we pray enough, God will listen. Waking up today and hearing the news, God didn’t listen. I had a conversation with God asking why? Why take someone who was devoted to you? Yes he made mistakes but every human goes through trials & tribulations.

But then I listened to your gospel music again and how you spoke to the Lord. You told the Lord to take away your brothers pain even if he needs to take you. Your loved ones & close friends are blessed to have known you, to have someone who looked out for them. God took you because he needed you. He finally realized how hurt you were & now he will heal your soul. He took you out of the misery you suffered. He listened to your prayers.

When you were just coming up & young, you always included God in your message. I knew you were a real one then. I remember listening to you back when I was only 12-13 years old at first. You brought an energy to me, when I played basketball, when I was in a good mood or when I wanted to deal with my anger. You made songs that showed your emotions. You made hit songs that were continuously played in parties and people sang it loud. But then as you grew & I grew & I understood more about life, you made songs about real situations, life & God. That’s when you became one of my favourite artists.

There are only a few people who can impact your life, especially people you don’t have know but it happens. I never knew you but your songs, poetry, music to God helped me through a lot mentally & emotionally. It helped me a lot that I can’t type it all in this post. People will think of you as some hard headed rapper with the big cuban chains rapping about violence, but your real fans know you for being a real human. You gave every topic your voice. A human that went through a lot, with anger, sadness, devotion to God
& it’s why I relate to you. Your music helped me through times where my own people couldn’t.

You laid your emotions on the line, you were real with everyone. You never gave a **** about the industry or what people thought of you. You were a real human who shared your unfiltered humanity, heart, tears & emotion with us through your music. Your song “Lord Give me a Sign” & “I’ll miss you” will always stay close to me. Your mixtapes & albums are always on repeat with me everyday. Thank you for being there even though we never met.

I pray for you, your loved ones & family. I hope you finally get to meet your Lord. I hope you finally get to have that conversation with him. I hope you find peace. The lord forgives, as long as you repent & learn from your mistakes. The real ones will miss you, hearing your songs now will hit different knowing you aren’t here but your memory lives forever. You live forever, especially in the people you touched. You will be heavily missed. Ruff Ryders forever. RIP DMX.

Read on Twitter
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

^From what I've read lately and from what I remember in old documentaries, DMX was always classy around fans and kids, specially kids. Its usually frowned upon but he wouldn't hesitate to peck kids fans on the cheek/head like adults do a lot in foreign cultures.

I can see why the tupac impact comparison was made, but I don't think its the same, at least not yet. Tupac's reach is global its pretty crazy. I've seen his paintings in Morocco, Spain and Turkey in random alleys. My cab driver had turkish songs mixed with tupac it was pretty crazy.

It seems like as soon as Rap artists pass an age, the fans stop caring about them and move on to the new ones. I think rap fans are the only ones like this. Rock artists can fill up a stadium at 70, while Raekwon the chef had a half empty concert hall in Toronto. DMX was definitely forgotten in the decade.
Google "Hind Rajab"
Total Killed by Israel = 50,000+
Israel kills a child every 45 minutes and ban aid workers from bringing in baby formula
Total being starved by Israel = 500,000 -1,000,000

I think it has to do with the persona rappers usually portray. When you're full of braggadocio as an artist, it isn't really a good look to be an ageing old man, you know? That's why the more successful rappers/artists/producers in hip hop pivot at a certain age. Dre, Diddy, 50 Cent, to name a few. Like for me, I find it cringe seeing snoop try to make music nowadays lol You're an old man, stay at home. Him specifically though. I wouldn't have an issue with someone like DMX performing into his 50s though because I think he was being authentic most of the time whereas a guy like Snoop just goes where the money is and it sort of taints (for me) whatever legacy he built in the early 90s. He's more of a gimmick at this point. I agree though it is sad seeing some of these guys just kind of fade away. Not as great of an example cause he isn't on their level but I've ran into Maestro Fresh Wes at food basics and canadian tire before a couple of times and it's just kind of wild to see a hip hop legend just kind of becoming a nobody/regular joe shmoe like one of us loll

That's funny about snoop I just watched his vrsuz with DMX and his vibe was so great lol, like an old uncle at the family reunion. I definitely used to think rap was a young man's game but as long as you don't talk about the same things at 40 as you did at 20 then all the power to you.
