sorry, that's a lot of garbage ass shots. does this guy ever actually pass the ball either?

Significantly better than Bullocks.

Then again, he'll wind up costing significantly more, and that's IF the Raptors don't match. Which they probably will.

It's an interesting trio to choose from.

While I'm fairly sure the Knicks could fit two of them and be under the cap etc, not sure they want to tie up their money for 4 years on the following team:

Lonzo/IQ/Draft pick?
Powell/Burks/Draft pick
RJ/Bullocks/Draft pick
Randle/Obi
Mitch/Noel or Random big

All are good outside shooters, one of the Knicks areas of need.

None of them are elite at dribble penetration, though Powell, and to an extent Trent Jr, don't lack it.

Lonzo fills the need of getting a better PG and one that shoots, plus fits in with tall PG, switchable defender that Thibs likes. Also making 3's at a good rate, moves the ball, obviously a plus passer. Doesn't penetrate well enough and I'm not buying the argument fully that "RJ and Randle will do that". I'd consider Lonzo, who I really like, if the Knicks feel STRONLY there is a creative wing who they can get via trade or FA in year.

Powell might be the best fit in terms of playing, in that he seems to have the most well rounded game, but downsides are he's the oldest, though hardly old at 27, and will probably cost the most, as this is best chance at a big payday.
Powell is certainly on Randles timeline as they are about the same age, and I think people, myself included, can get carried away by age timeline. It would be fine for Randle to have another guy or two who are 27, as long as the Knicks have a few guys who are 20-23. Then, after a 4 year run with Randle/Powell?/?, guys like RJ and IQ are 24, Mitch is 27, assuming a couple of draft keepers are 22ish, that's 5 guys for another 4 year run.

Trent Jr would seem to be around the same cost as Lonzo, is young like Lonzo, and while not as good at driving it etc as Powell, SEEMS to be unlocking that part of his game. The risk here is that this is his ceiling - that improvement he's made over his first few years, and then maybe he's a little expensive for what he brings.

I'd like to see the Knicks add one of these guys.
They'll probably strike out though.

oh no. the decision to take him over Ball looking worse now

Wiseman has had a few flashes, but he's been limited. Ball looks like he's legit, but again, limited. Ant man looks like the real stud of the draft in year one. Who knows in three years, but right now, the order is about right.

This board tears us Anthony Edwards for some reason. Not sure why. Kid's got a real bright future in the league if he doesn't get lost in Timberwolve land for too long.

Yeah, we're definitely not getting him, only 22 and starting to flash some shot creation, also Toronto's rebuild will be a short one if they end up drafting Mobley.

Yeah they didn't trade a good asset for him just to lose him for nothing. That's out the window

think you have to go around 23-25 million each for Trent and Ball. Otherwise their teams will match easily.

I don't see Trent going anywhere unless the offer is a huge overpay

but do the Pelicans even want Lonzo?

yes, otherwise they would have traded him at the deadline.

but there are rumors that he's been on the trade block and according to Bobby Marks, he doesn't think they'd match anything over 18M per yr (would put them over the cap)

+ Lavar clearly doesn't want Lonzo there

the Pelicans actually have a better winning % without him and Zion has been given more ball-handling responsibility of late. hard to see how Lonzo fits in

actually think he fits them perfectly. he can play on and off the ball with this shooting ability. also a good defender. I would offer him around 20 million for sure.

sure, they can play him more off-ball but that doesn't take advantage of his best skill: playmaking

they can find a better 3&D player for cheaper

also they drafted Kira who's gonna need more minutes as he progresses. already looks like a solid pick (better than Obi :( )
