We're going up against experienced tanking teams, I hope we somehow get rewarded for not blatantly tanking and end up with the best player(s) from the deep draft.

Future looks incredibly bleak if we don’t get a proper player. We will have majority of our cap space locked into role players. Talk about treadmill.

I won't lie. I **** up by watching too many games of Cade, Green and Kuminga. I lowkey will be devastated if we don't get a top 5 pick. Jalen Johnson is cool but I don't think he has top 10 in the league potential. Bouknight is intriguing but again, I don't think he'll be a superstar ever.

I'm all in on the top 5. :(

As evident with the fact that Nurse had all of his starters with the game on the line, this team is all in for the play-in game. When FVV returns, and this team is healthy again, this team is better than Chicago. Baynes is now stapled to the bench, and with the addition of Birch and Gillespie, I think they will surpass the Bulls before the season is out and finish 10th.

Unless Masai puts his foot down and tells Nurse to "load manage the key players otherwise" this team will probably be drafting 11th to 15. That is the decision they made, and they have to live with it. I do not agree with it, but this team has chosen to go that route. If they were thinking of tanking, they would not have signed Birch, and would tell Lowry to rest for another week. This organization is not looking at the long-term picture. They want to make the playoffs, pick 15th overall, and to be blown out of the first round, so let them enjoy that.

Chicago really stinks lol. Traded a bunch of picks for empty stats guy Vucevic, wasn't there someone here that want to trade all our assets for him.

That's stupidest thing ever. I'll be back on TWO for the next season and foreseeable future. Bunch of role players, and one getting the max.

I'm all in on the top 5. :(

I see the odds breaking down like this:

- Top 4 pick - 14% (50% of top 4 odds from the 8th spot, per Tankathon)
- 8th overall (plus/minus a spot) - 43%
- 16th overall pick - 43%

Basically I think it's even odds that the Raps make it into the play-in. Chicago is terrible, but I suppose it's possible that they hold off the Raps and/or one of the awful teams that are currently lower make a run (Wizards are the best bet).

Bulls are the better team and won't be risk to the thank in the long run. Win now moves at the deadline ensured this.

Vuc and Lavine are averaging like 30 PPG each since the trade (they're both efficient scorers too), yet they still lose every game for **** sake.

Good opportunity for us tankers to find some perspective when we grumble about GTJ's buzzer beater vs Wizards: Hey it could be worse - we could be like the Bulls - traded away 2 future FRP for a push and may still miss the playoffs and stuck with a mediocre core.

This should serve as a good lesson for casuals to not undermine the importance of defense.

Tank watch for Apr 12:

San Antonio @ Orlando - hoping Magic wins, but we likely won't catch them anyways
Chicago @ Memphis - if Bulls win, they build a bigger cushion between us
Sacramento @ New Orleans - c'mon TD score more than 1 pt!
Washington @ Utah - Go Wiz!

They both played last night but at least Orlando stays at home!

At least both Chicago and Memphis played last night.

Sacramento playing Pelicans who played last night and missing Lonzo and Hart. Gotta take advantage!

Beal should be back from rest, let's get this longshot!!!

Doesn't have to be Kelly, I said a player like Kelly. Free agents don't want to come to Toronto.

Who has Masai signed? Cojo? Carroll? Sullinger? Baynes?

"lol"

Even if that’s the case, we’d have room to sign another FA. Kelly Olynyk is not getting $15M a season by any team. Clearly wasn’t good enough to start on the Heat before the trade to the Rockets. He’s a bench player.

You act like we had cap space all those years. We had cap space in one season. The rest we only had the MLE.

You also don’t know what happens with Lowry. We could end up solidifying the bench with a s&t and get a first round pick too.

This isn’t even the point. You don’t even know what the plan is for next season and we haven’t tanked since Masai came on board. You think tanking is going to be the direction the team takes heading into a new season? Yeah i dont think so lol

Masai, Bobby, and Nurse are literally tanking right now.

Look at all the players out with boo boos, look at our deadlines trades, these aren't win now moves.

We'll re-sign Trent, add a mediocre big, and add our 3 rookies into the rotation. Rookies are rookies and they aren't going to make a significant impact in their first NBA season. So unless we get lucky with those lottery balls, next season doesn't look great.

When I said "tWo is going to be in full force" (the post you originally responded to) where did I say that's the direction of the team? tWo is a reference to posters on RealGM not the direction Masai and Bobby are taking...I have no idea what you're talking about.

And guess what, your opinion counts as little as mine.

Look at Nurse's commentary. Yup Doug tanking sucks but I better shut up now.

That win against the Wizards really hurt us. Every time I run a simulation, we either stand at the 8th spot, or we drop.
