When you go back and look at all the moves, trades, etc., that Jerry had free reign with no push back, we got royally f....d over. Now Jerry is stirring his gin and tonic over Pitts. SOMEONE, PLEASE STOP HIM.

For the most part I agree however Deion Sanders was a good free agent signing.

I know we hardly disagree on much but the Deion Sanders was the beginning of the end. his huge contract kept us from having enough money to keep Larry Allen. I have no doubt we would have gone back and won the Super bowl with or without Deion.

By the time Larry Allen left he was a shell of his former self. There was no way they were going to give him a big contract. That would be like giving Tyron Smith a huge contract right now.

I guess we feel differently on this situation. I was never really a Sanders fan. I always thought he was a bit over rated, over paid and gave us nothing in the run game. I would have preferred to keep Larry Allen.

He ink is barely dry and he already is in trouble. So glad he isn't our problem anymore. I'm a stickler when it comes to red flag players and he sure is a big one. I never wanted him on the team to begin with.

Neither did Pollard and he was way more effective. Faster and a much better receiving RB.

Pollard is the 3rd down back. He has a lot of his success because Zeke is in there punishing the defense on 1st and 2nd downs.

I still think and feel Pollard bring more to the table than Dak. he's faster, runs just as hard if not harder at times and is MUCH better receiver. I can also claim Pollard is better with ball security especially based on what Elliot showed last season. But so far this year I love the one, two punch. Should keep both of them much fresher late in the game and 4th quarter.

Keeping both Zeke and Pollard to about 15-17 touches apiece will keep them both fresh towards the end of the season.

Diggs named NFC defensive player of the month.

I have a feeling he’s going to win a few more of those.

Its very obvious that Diggs and Parson's have changed the culture, etc., with this defense. When does Lawrence come back?

Well this is interesting. Makes sense to cut him for contract reasons however why now and not at the end of camp? I honestly don’t expect the Cowboys to miss him. He’s played better this year but only to the level that he doesn’t suck. He’s also slow. I expect LVE will be moved to the middle and Jabril Cox will get more playing time which I’m fine with. Also Keanu Neal should be back this week.

As for the culture, Diggs and Parsons have absolutely helped change the culture of the defense. Dan Quinn deserves a good amount of that credit too. Keep in mind, he’s playing a completely different style of defense than what he ran in Seattle or Atlanta where he ran almost exclusively a cover-3. He’s also blitzing way more than he did with either team. I also love that he makes adjustments in game. If he’s doing something that isn’t working he changes it until it does work. He doesn’t just keep beating his head against the wall and blame it on execution like Garrett and Marinelli did for all those years.

Outside of McCarthy’s questionable clock management issues I can honestly say I watch games now not expecting them to get out coached in some way on offense or defense.

The trade deadline is still weeks away.

There's a strong possibility the Cowboys will make a move to compensate for the loss of Jaylon Smith.

I doubt it. The Cowboys drafted Jabril Cox to play and they will be getting Keanu Neal back this week. If they do make a trade I wouldn’t expect it to be a big name or anyone that would cost that much. I expect LVE will be moved to the middle, Neal and Cox man the weak side, Parsons plays some on the strong side. LB was probably the deepest position on the team so I’d actually be shocked if they traded for someone.

And I wouldn’t exactly call cutting Jaylon a loss. More than likely it will be addition by subtraction.

Yeah, I don't expect a big name either.

What I'm expecting is adding a veteran for depth.

I prefer a veteran player over a rookie, like Cox, because I think the Cowboys can make the NFC championship game this season.

Jaylon Smith has been taking bad angles on running plays and like Mr. B has just said, he's slow. IMHO he doesn't play the passing game well at all and gets burned a lot with teams that have very good pass catching RB's out of the backfield. I just don't understand the timing of this. A bit surprised I guess his release comes at this point of the season.

The J Smith cut came out of no where imo. Was not expecting that at all. Don't we still owe him this season's salary? It's weird and now I feel like we lack depth at LB because LVE is injury prone.

I don't like this move and I don't understand this move.

There has to be something else that hasn't come out yet regarding J. Smith. Something isn't right here.

Return to Dallas Cowboys
