GSW = "we're light years ahead"

Also GSW = "let's spend a #2 pick on a true center with almost no discernible basketball skills"

Injuries can happen at any position to any player so I don’t think an injury to Wiseman is suddenly another tick mark off why you don’t draft centers high in the first round.

But imagine Lamelo on the Warriors right now. I just don’t get why teams do this. Even if Anthony Edwards is a complete bust you take the chance he is not because he plays the most premium position.

The ROI for drafting a center in the top 10 is so low, it seems insane why anyone would bother with it.

The injury has nothing to do with it.

He absolutely stinks. He looks like a guy who, even if he develops, will be nothing more than just another random middling center who can't play any other position.

Wendell was seriously far better as a rookie than him. People here are complaining a ton about Pat, well Pat looks like freakin' Larry Bird compared to him.

The Nuggets are the team I watch after a Bulls game to remind myself why I even like basketball.

This Jamal Murray injury sucks. Just absolutely brutal. He was just getting back to that bubble-Murray level too.

That sucks for Murray. I was watching that game and I thought someone fouled him. Till I saw the replay and I was hoping for a sprain but its a torn acl. Sucks.

Damn. NBA injuries are brutal. Hate seeing these young guys hit their peaks and have to rehab a year, just to return to their peak.

It just feels too familiar.
It's so hard to get a team to top tier contending (not really getting into the debate if Denver is at that level or not). So the team does its part. Hits on draft picks, finds the right free agents, goes on a good playoff run, has its best player in the MVP conversation, and finally moves its chips in trying to get that final piece.

Then in the final moments of a game, that happens.

**** hell man.

Drafting prospects, developing players, trading players, making free agency moves, paying/maxing players, picking the right coaches, adopting the right system, health and availability... you can try to systemize all of these all you want but SO MUCH of your team's success relies on luck. Fail on any one of these and your team can become middling and land right in the "NBA Hell" so quickly.

I'm really, really bummed about Murray going down. I have watched a whole lot of Denver games this season; this is probably the closest I've ever come to being a real fan of a baseball or basketball team other than my childhood-through-lifetime Cardinals/Bulls allegiance. I thought they had a very real chance to come out of the West. They have been a bucket of fun to watch, especially this year when I've soured on almost every aspect of watching Bulls basketball.

They still have a ton of talent and I'll continue to root for them in the West - even moreso, perhaps. Maybe they can play their hearts out and score a big upset come playoff time, but losing Murray is just a huge, huge blow.

Season-ending injuries are heartbreaking. They've become such a narrative in this sport. Seems like every season we have a major star go down, and it ripples throughout the league.

Terrible for one of the league's favorite teams. Everyone loves their home teams, and then everyone loves Denver 2nd.

That's too bad for Wiseman, but what the hell was GS doing not trading that pick in the first place. This is one of many reasons why they don't keep Wiseman when their window is next year.

Lakers about to get a Murray-less Denver in the first round.

Randomly came across this BG interview from a year ago. This dude is in serious trouble...just sounds so unwell and unhealthy.

Edit: Found another one. Very disheartening to watch.

Yeah, his player's tribune article from a little over a year ago is very telling.

Was just looking up some stats and randomly saw that the Hornets have a +34 NetRTG in the clutch this season. Ridiculous 132 ORTG and 98 DRTG over those 74 minutes. They're 16-8 in games which are decided in the clutch. Kind of explains their weirdly good record. Blazers have almost exactly the same advanced numbers btw, but in more minutes/games (they're 21-8 in close games).

Bulls rank 25th with a terrible -12 NetRTG (third-worst clutch defense in the league), no surprises there.
