Just gonna go down the list real quick:

1. It's more than believable that our future Senator leaked the deal.
2. The league was still wildly out of line for killing the deal, not just because of selective enforcement, but because it's not clear the Bucks and Sacto actually did anything wrong.
3. Bogdan is a good player.
4. Donte is a much better fit on this Bucks team than Bogdan, and that's not even considering the financial aspect.

Never have so many hands been wrung over an average wing. Bogdan couldn't do the things Donte does any more than Donte can do the things Bogdan does, and you're just as likely to be playing defense on the last possession of a one possession game as you are offense.

Bogdan would have been a better fit with us because he's a legitimate floor spacing shooter, but he's not a better player, sorry Larry Harris.

An aside: how often has Horst whoopsed into a good move?

I think we got very lucky the Bogdan traded fell through, even though the league's behavior is infuriating. We got Jrue in part from an asset pile including the Indiana pick they gave us because the owner basically felt bad about signing our RFA. The Pat contract was part of a hilarious CBA botch, and then Pat leveled up and made it a good deal. Thanasis was a favor to Giannis (not saying I wouldn't have) that suddenly leveled up (like 3 times) and looks like a real rotation player in the middle of the season.

Maybe this is just par for the course in the NBA, and I'm cherry-picking, but this isn't the first time I've found myself wondering about our relative transaction luck over the last couple of years.

Yep, Silver's still a clown and a big market lap-dog for meddling in what was simply a good-faith transaction between two parties whose only problem was neither being named "Los Angeles". While the hand-wringing over a 28-year old, career 13/3/3 guy with one borderline elite skill, is still a bridge too far. We're either good enough to get past Brooklyn with the current core or we're not. A mediocre starting wing/guard isn't changing that, and that applies to both Donte and Bogdan.

Only thing I'd point out is that Donte hasn't exactly been great on defense at the end of games, as we've seen. His brain seems to short circuit. I'm sure he's made good plays at the end of games but I can't think of any, I suppose the bad decisions stand out.

Agree with 1-3. I disagree with 4. Even if "its a wash" I like Bogdan's fit better. Hopefully it won't matter in the end.
