Pelicans go all in on a young core. They resign Ball and run Ball/Beal/Ingram/Zion as the core for the future. They still have more draft capital left to package for a better fitting big man like say a Myles Turner or Christian Wood as well.

Golden State is a close second if the pick ends up being 4 or 5 in this draft.

Golden State runs out Steph/Beal/Thompson/Green/Looney with Bertans as a 6th man.

Really bad idea to trade those unprotected picks. Those often end up being disastrous moves when mediocre teams make them. Beal isn't worth all that either imo and I think NOP should look to add players in free agency and look for bargains in the trade market.

What about throwing a big offer out at Norm Powell who will be a UFA this summer. Good fit I think. Won't cost anything but cap space.

Since Hart and Ball need new contracts and they still haven't dumped Bledsoe, finding enough cap space to offer a decent contract to Powell will be a problem.

They’d pretty much just have left a Steven Adams and the Lakers pick package, and I guess Bucks swap rights?. Since AD re-signed, and Jrue/Giannis too, I don’t have those picks as super valuable right now.

I'd much rather have Powell over Hart. Worst case you let him walk. You could also explore s&t options to get an asset back. Ball id definitely try to re-sign and then dump Bledsoe even if it costs a pick since NOP has so many anyway.

I like a Beal to the Pels deal, but I'd base it around Ingram. Gives the Wizards a legit centerpiece to sell to their fans and it makes it easier to balance the lineup where Zion/Beal are your primary options.

I wouldn’t do that without an extension if NOP

Then you build the value off of that to what makes up the difference.

Looking over pick situation and salary matching...

Herro, Achiuwa, Okpala and ‘28 Heat 1st for Beal (Miami waives/renounces all team options/cap holds besides Duncan Robinson)

Wiseman, Wiggins, ‘21 Warriors 1st and ‘21 (or ‘22) T’Wolves 1st for Beal and Bertans

MPJ, Barton, JaMychal Green and ‘21 Denver 1st for Beal

Denver is not trading MPJ for a Beal rental.

I don't know if the defense will be good enough with a pairing of Kemba and Beal. Maybe another step back on defense with a swap of Williams for Bryant.

Good points - probably best not to include the centers. Any other thoughts on what would be a good Beal for Brown deal that could help both teams?
