Looks like Orlando are now. Still a bad trade I think?

For some weird reason some people liked what they did at the deadline, lol.

Look at the protections on the picks they traded

If they pick top 4 this year (like ~30% chance that happens) they keep the pick and it’s top 3 protected next year, but that would also push the top 4 protected 2023 pick back to 2024.

There’s a crazy scenario where Orlando doesn’t get a single first round pick in that trade if the Bulls are terrible/lucky the next 4 years

Don't mean to go all CHL but Luka looks really out of shape tonight.

Russillo had ABA guys on his pod the other week and kept talking about the book “Loose Balls” by Terry Pluto and how great it was. I found a used copy online for six bucks and I have to say it’s really well written. It breaks the ABA down so well and conveys it all in a way that’s so easy to understand and engaging.

I’m about halfway through and I can’t recommend it enough.

Great book
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Great book

The ABA is the last great mystery, for bball fans. On one hand, you had prime Dr J, young Moses Malone, David Thompson, etc doing things no one had seen on a basketball court. On the other hand, none of it was televised and attendance was modest. So it still wasn’t really seen. Its like outlaw basketball meets bigfoot. All with 70’s style and street aesthetics. There are photos of Larry Brown in fur coats, there were leisure suits, there were games played where visiting teams never had their uniforms arrive, there were nickel beer nights gone horribly wrong, once the all star mvp won a horse as a prize and it promptly died from neglect... The ABA was the last wonderfully weird and underexposed moment in pro basketball.

Oh yeah.. once you read “Loose Balls” go back and watch “Semi Pro.” Whoever wrote that movie, clearly stole or borrowed 4-5 bits from the book. Fair game, I guess. Will F was clearly having fun with it. The part where he can’t say “tortilla” in the commercial, for example, was based on a real guy.

Yugos don't need athleticism. Only reason the rest of the world wins anything at all is because there's only 20 million of them and split in 6 different countries.

When the Kohl era Bucks moronically mortgaged future assets for mediocre veteran players, they at least were able to grab the 8th seed. Imagine being the poor man's version of the 2005-2008 Bucks...

Chin up, Bulls fans.
