Re: OT: Dogecoin
I'm too broke to do crypto, but I have a buddy who has become a literal millionaire over his longterm and short term crypto investments, and dude is blasting everyone on social media who were mocking dogecoin. He has five figures worth of this stuff! He's savvy enough to sell soon - I think? Or hell maybe he'll HODL to the moon also.
Guy was a waiter selling weed on the side ten years ago, now he owns multiple properties and has a crazy crypto portfolio. He just flies his girlfriend around the world and he monitors things from his laptop. It's surreal seeing his crazy success on something a lot of older generation types are so skeptical about.

*slapping myself*...missed out on this one since it came off as a joke in the beginning. But I may still jump in.

Jump in literally this minute if you're interested. It's dipping a little.

Great story. This is my YOLO move. It seems silly, but I truly think if I play this right it could turn out to be a life-changing gamble.

It's hard to find where to buy this one. It's not on coinbase. I would buy it on binance but it's taking them long to verify my account. I guess I'll check those swapping or trading services.

I know nothing about this stuff, but how much should someone buy if they're trying to get into it right now? I recently came into some money and have been looking for some investment opportunities but the whole GME thing looks too volatile so this may be a good alternative.HomoSapien wrote:ImSlower wrote:I'm too broke to do crypto, but I have a buddy who has become a literal millionaire over his longterm and short term crypto investments, and dude is blasting everyone on social media who were mocking dogecoin. I'm using Robinhood since I'm only interested in investing in it and not using it for shopping.

Crypto is really volatile as well, but it seems like a realistic goal for Dogecoin is a $1.00 per coin valuation. Like a week ago it was worth 5 cents and now it's worth more than a U.S. quarter.

You're playing a crypto casino. DOGE is a joke coin that is mooning because of the memes. Whenever the crash happens, it will crash hard. Not if, but when.

I don't understand what gives all this crypto value. It's not backed by anything. I've just never been able to make sense of it. I'd love a good explanation.

There are some legitimate projects in crypto. Then there is this total meme called Doge which really stains what crypto is all about.

Do you dabble in other crypto or are you just riding the meme?

I'm riding the meme. Tyrus could be right that this all crashes, but right now I've made quite a bit of money off of it and I'm only investing what I'm comfortable losing in a worst-case scenario.

What makes gold have any value? It's pretty damn worthless aside from the fact that it is finite and doesn't corrode away.

Crypto is the future man. Honestly, if you've made good cash on the meme, I'd get out and put it in a more legitimate cryptocurrency.

Re: OT: Dogecoin
exactly this. There’s a lot of money to be made in crypto, you just need to pick projects you do your research on and feel comfortable with. Off the top of my head, Bitcoin, Ethereum, XLM, Vechain, BNB, TRXCabbage bulls wrote:HomoSapien wrote:Cabbage bulls wrote:Do you dabble in other crypto or are you just riding the meme?

To be fair, there is a lot of reason to be optimistic about Dogecoin. Elon Musk is pushing it... the Dallas Mavericks are accepting it as currency. It's currently worth as much as a U.S. quarter. If Dogecoin is added to Coinbase, as many are speculating, the value will receive another boost.
