If and when he gets to that point of averaging 7-8 or so FT attempts per game, he'll comfortably average 29/30 per game.
Think about that.

With his improvement just from last year to this (and year over year since he came into the league), I am indeed hopeful that his vision, decision-making, and passing will continue to improve and, yes, he will get to the line more routinely as well.

It's just all wide open threes, otherwise he's just a JAG.

1st Team All-NBA.
NBA Finals MVP.
I don't think he can surpass JT over the course of an NBA season but could over the course of a PO series.

Being compared to Middleton is supposed to be an insult? Also how is he bundled in with Rudy Gay?
Dude is a multiple time all star who has gotten all nba consideration.

Brown is close to his peak.
Highly efficient 3 level scorer that can’t create for others on offense and a downright pathetic team defender.
Brown has no instinct in the areas he is lacking in, he’s peaked.

If this is his peak, it's pretty good. That said, you sound pissed. Angry even. He's 24. He hasn't hit his prime yet. I doubt he's peaked even though your critiques are 100% valid.

Re: What is Jaylen Brown's ceiling?
I'd be curious why people think a player who is on Brown's improvement trajectory is going to suddenly peak.
2016
.539 TS% (breakdown: .507 2P%, .341 3P%, .685 FT%)
2017
.562 TS% (breakdown: .507 2P%, .395 3P%, .644 FT%)
2018
.547 TS% (breakdown: .529 2P%, .344 3P%, .658 FT%)
2019
.583 TS% (breakdown: .543 2P%, .382 3P%, .724 FT%)
2020
.595 TS% (breakdown: .548 2P%, .404 3P%, .754 FT%)
I've been skeptical about his potential on here a lot. But his efficiency has gone up in all areas, while his usage goes up, not down. And the jump from 2019-2020 is just as big as any of the other ones he's made, there's no evidence of the curve rounding off at it's peak.

Because Brown still has flaws. But rather than admit that he's still young and admit his obvious growth, people like to extrapolate those flaws from the rest of the argument and project their anger about them to confirm their bias. It says more about those people those posters than it does about Brown. NBA prime years are 27-32. These are the years when mental approach, physical ability and skill are all at their peak. That tenet is pretty much hard-wired into this game. I have no idea how much more Brown can grow as a player but until he hits that point I just don't see how the argument that he has peaked has any validity. Sure you can speculate, but that's it.
And as I say this, Jaylen is my favorite player on the team and yet he is the most MADDENING to me. Because so much of him reaching the next level is mental now more than physical. But this year is really his first full year taking on the no doubt about it lead role on this team. I'd be foolish to think that as thoughtful a kid as he is, that he can't work on his mental approach to the game in the offseason as he also HOPEFULLY gains a consistent core of teammates that he can rely on.

You have to look at his TS% relative to the league. It's 98, 101, 98, 103, 104. All very good and showing steady improvement, but the jump from 2019-2020 is not as big as the other ones he's made.

Not only that, but Brown is clearly already as good as Middleton today, if not better.
Plus, this thread asking about Brown's ceiling.
Middleton is at his absolute peak, he's 29. It's very rare that a guy improves at his age.
Brown meanwhile is only 24. Guys typically peak between age 27-29. So it would be shocking if Brown doesn't improve enough over the next few years to surpass Middleton's peak. And again, one might argue Brown has already (at age 24) surpassed Middleton's peak with what Brown has done this season..

Middleton last season per 36 (the Bucks smashed everyone so the starters didn’t play a ton) put up 25/7/5 on a 62% TS, and was much better defensively than Jaylen this season. Was a fringe all nba season, which is where I have Jaylen peaking around, but with better raw numbers, and over a much longer time period. I’m just saying Middleton peaked pretty damn high last season, and saying Jaylen may max out at that is a compliment, not an insult.
Numbers are somewhat skewered this season, there’s zero defense being played. I think that will correct back some next season, and we may see players numbers drop off a bit.
