This is virtually the same team from last year, same core-- just missing, who? Derrick Jones Jr. and Crowder?

Nobody had a problem with our off season in the offseason because the FO did what a lot of teams do after a Finals run and stayed put. We're just trash because a few players have regressed, I don't think it's deeper than that.

It was Giannis. You get Giannis and you have a dynasty. It's a gamble you do a 100 times over. And as you said the players have regressed. Resigning Crowder would have helped a bit but if Dragic is hurt & Herro, Duncan , Bam are playing like this it, resigning those two wouldn't have made much of a difference.
We were counting on the younger guys to take a leap. And they either haven't (Bam, Nunn) or have regressed like Herro and Duncan. This is on the players. Considering the circumstance of this season, you can give them a pass. But next season if these guys don't start to improve you gotta rethink their ceiling and their value. At some point next season there is going to need to have discussion about Bam.

These small lineups are not going to cut it with this team. I dont know what is up Spos ass he doesnt want to adjust .

I'll try to explain it. Aside from Bam, our "bigs" are Nemanja Bjelica, Precious Achiuwa, Dewayne Dedmon, and Udonis Haslem. None of those guys are good players at this point. One doesn't even play. There is no scenario in which we try to match size and come out on top. The best "talent" on our roster aside from Bam is SFs and Guards. That's what you have to put on the floor and try to force the other team to adjust to your strengths. Unfortunate that doesn't work if your talent doesn't play well.

In other words we're screwed. And the only chance we have of getting unscrewed is for our smaller players to play better, because our talented players aren't getting any bigger, and our bigger players aren't getting any more talented.

It's easy to **** on Spo, but this is the roster he's got.

Rebound is where this team falls apart. Any big with size in the NBA should put a body and box another player, regardless of skills. It is the stupid defensive scheme being applied with a bunch of out of position undersized rotating little minions, that is a killer.

If it’s not a rebound, it’s a wide open 3.

It's a 2-fold problem for Bam.

1: He lacks the mentality of an alpha.

2: He lacks the moves. Still a very raw offensive player

The biggest issue is 1, if you don't have the mindset of wanting to be aggressive offensively, it's really hard to push yourself to be aggressive on a consistent basis.

I don’t even blame the players. Spo, the organization, and bum ass coaching staff that includes worthless Caron Butler. They have put these players in such a horrible spot to succeed. Basically making all there jobs 10 times harder then every other team in NBA

This obsession with small ball just isn't going to cut it. Even if we didn't suck, this team was never going to win a title playing small ball. It just puts so much strain on the perimeter guys to be perfect on defense. A lot of our guys can't even do that. Then they do all that work just to give an easy basket in the paint on a rebound or getting caught on a switch.

Basically, this is not Miami Heat basketball. It worked when we had LeBron, but that era is long gone. We need bigs. We need defense. This is the Houston Rockets, except we don't have a James Harden.

Yes, but several players have regressed. We're not getting the same Dragic who went off. And he's a year older. Our shooters are not shooting like they were. We don't have Crowder defending and shooting 3's anymore. We don't have a DJJ coming off the bench to play D. Iggy is a year older.

But we simply weren't going to consistently stay a great Finals team every year with perimeter guys who can't defend well and no bigs. Talent wise, we're better than this. But this team just was never going to win a title with how it was constructed. They are still hoping to get a whale somehow, but there's nobody available.

Naz is a good scorer. He’s also a terrible defender and has low BBIQ. Vandy plays solid D but has hands of stone. Rookie McDaniels is pups best big outside of Towns.
