I definitely have to give props to Carter. I wasn't a fan and still have many doubts but he's showing a pretty complete game. I was for keeping Vuc, but only because I did not foresee the potential quality of the picks and player WeHam was able to get back (most conversations involved late firsts). Additionally, I saw WCJ as a throw-in...I want our wings to lead the way and I hope Cliff isn't building Vuc 2.0 around WCJ but he looks good and, hopefully, becomes a legit 3pt threat. It's a little skewed to try to evaluate players in such a messed up, tanky, getting-to-know-you, different lineup every night environment, but he looks good.

Ross really helped the tank tonight, he was so bad on D just when it mattered and strangely lethargic on offense too, kudos to him.

Wendell looked really good, nice to see.

Bro....i swear to you in my head this is exactly what i'm afraid of....quietly i'm thinking i hope clifford isn't thinking of centering the offense around WCJ in the "Vuc" role....We can't play that way ever again...we HAVE to start playing faster....i'm sick of our point guards just trotting the ball up the court with no sense of urgency....it's like 12 seconds on the shotclock before we even start the first action on the play....that isn't going to cut it in this era....If clifford plans to keep his job then he has to go back to the drawing board in a MAJOR way and come into next season playing a style that fits the roster....we're younger and faster...lets take the training wheels off

Clifford has only had success with teams that ran the offense thru a big guy. Dwight, Jefferson, and Vuc.

What ? Clifford had two teams, one centered around Kemba Walker and one centered around Vucevic. If he has elite wing i am certain he will build around elite wing.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !

Despite all the changes our best players are still bigs. We need to draft a star guard to truly change the team.

He had success when he had Jefferson in Charlotte

In Clifford's best season in Charlotte (2015/2016) Jefferson played only 47 games, mostly off the bench, and averaged 23 MPG, 12 PPG and 1.5 APG. it really doesn't seem like they ran their offense through him much.

I didn't look up the stats, it just seemed like more. I think I recall Clifford saying that Jefferson being out really hurt them in the playoffs.

Any team with a player out ( especially someone who give you a lot of your team's production ) will always hurt you

Return to Orlando Magic
