Maybe get Theis with the MLE and sign Zeller on the cheap to be the backup? Also hopefully draft a center to be the long term starter after a couple years. Thats probably the best case scenario.

We have cap space, if they still can’t find a C then I don’t know what to tell you. You can’t roll with Zeller and Biz again. You just can’t.

Play Richards and Carey.

They can't be that bad.

Carey and Richards both have three year deals?

Did you mean no one else?

I’m saying we can’t expect those guys to grow to the point of being solid contributors at the C spot for us next season so we HAVE to sign free agents who will. If one or both of them break out, then that’s a bonus and I’ll take it but they will likely be g league fixtures for 2021-22.

Celtics just waived Wagner, he would probably be our best centre if we got him

You might be wrong about that.

Why is biyombo still getting minutes? We have an entire season worth of data that shows he is an absolute anchor on our offense. How on Earth is he getting minutes ahead of Cody? I would rather play miles at Center than give biz any minutes other than a burst of energy in a game where we look flat.

Yet they’ve one more games than anyone expected. Either they were winning in spite of Biyombo or the coach knows better than us keyboard warriors.

I'll have you know I've won more (fantasy league) championships than anybody on the roster or coaching staff.

I dont think we are going to trade any of our youth, so I think it's going to be up to free agency.
I can't see Allen being available, Cleveland will lock him down.
Richard Holmes is UFA, he would be solid. I don't think we need great from the centre position, just solid.

Holmes looked good both times we played them, at least offensively

How's his defense? Sacramento has the worst defense in the league by a good margin. I realize the entire team contributes on that end, but it still isn't a good look for the starting center

I like Holmes but he would be another undersized C here. He lacks shot blocking ability against the bigger 5’s. But a good player who could help us. He’s better than PJ.

Mo Wagner isn’t much to write home about. Not sure he helps us more than anything we get from Vern or Richards.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

The 2021 ship has sailed. The Hornets tried (but not too hard) and failed to find a trade and they've all but ignored available free agents. The topic should be closed or altered to say, "2021-2022 Center Options." That way we may continue to discuss the draft and free agency this summer.

I am 100% okay with developing Carey. He and LaMelo should cause damage. Carey is definitely good for spacing the floor.

LaMelo
Rozier
Bridges
McDaniels (15-20 pounds of muscle added)
Carey (once developed)

We reportedly tried to sign Harrell and Drummond. Doesn't seem like we ignored free agents, just takes two to tango.

Yeah, this is why I say the Hornets didn't try too hard. If the motivation was really high, Kupchak would have made something happen. It's just not the priority this year. Harrell is the girl that just isn't into you and Drummond was always going to LA. Moving on...

Charlotte is dedicated to protecting it's draft picks, and I can't fault them for that. Stinks for 2021, but whatever.

I’m pretty sure we will end up with Drummond, for better or worse. I’d fully endorse spending less for Holmes, Kanter, etc. I’d also give up a non lottery pick and PJ for Turner. The center spot just has to be solved this summer if we are going to take the next step.

I think some names that are not being considered will become available. I mean this time last year you probably didn't expect Jarrett Allen and Vucevic to be moved. Personally, I would be trying to move Hayward while he's still got good value, even if it's for pieces that could be rerouted elsewhere for a center
