something about homegrown stars, right?

love that we have RJ. I want 1 more homegrown go-to scorer. the FO should really explore moving up in this next draft if there's a player they believe has big potential

I remember that being the rumor but I could also see him liking Tatum b/c Tatum's game seemed like a good fit for the triangle

Ian Begley and Ramona Shelbourne said Phil was in love with Jackson. Begley was still working with Woj back then so I believe it. I don’t think he wanted Tatum. Especially since he was tryna force Melo out of NY that season. I doubt he wanted another light skinned scorer

my comp for Tatum was Melo and at worst Danny Granger

perfectly ok, that he's not. still a tremendous pick, but I'd absolutely love to have a a go-to scoring perimeter player.....one that's homegrown would be even better, but beggars can't be choosers, and that'd require a bunch of luck

When you consider that RJ will only be 25 in his seventh season the question of whether he will be a # 1 type of player remains to be seen. He is not right now, but he's in the perfect pocket now next to Randle as the # 1 and maybe someday that will be him

To be fair.. maybe Jackson actually pans out had he gone to a functional franchise.. which wasn’t really the Knicks at the time either but still..

I never understood why they didn’t put the scorers table like a level above court side.

not sure he'll be the off the dribble shooting threat that most #1's are. it's a tough skill to master

I do wonder a lot how often a prospect fails because of talent vs situation

eh, we literally do not know that at all

Lately he has been doing a step back bunny hop in the high paint to get off his mid-range jumper. He never did that until recently. He's adding wrinkles to his game almost weekly

if the Mavs could stay a 7/8 seed, that'd be great

I think Memphis and Golden State both can beat the Mavs in the play-in

Steph is the best point guard in this league by far. Nobody is close to him.

it remains to be seen. not saying he can't do it. if he did tho it would be an absolute game-changer, def rooting for it

Jackson is right why are you letting an injured player bring it up with no pressure.

.... An injured shooter who is a threat the minute he crosses halfcourt. That’s bad coaching.
