Obviously playing out of self-interest. One less draft pick for the team distracting it from his window!

Seriously though the losing mentality is damaging. If Curry was held out longer than necessary last year from coming back from his hand injury it robbed valuable time that could have been used to assess if players like Alec Burks or Smailagic have chemistry with Steph, not that I'd trust Kerr to use that opportunity. Now Burks is on another team, his time with the Dubs wasted, and we still don't know what we have with Smailagic. Waste, waste and more waste. Penny-wise and pound foolish. Time is the most valuable commodity.

Toscano-Anderson if anything flew even lower under the radar but is now looking like a viable player going forward. The number one task during these non-contender years should be to find and develop players who can play well with Curry. Kerr, the coaching staff, and front office seem to lack focus in this regard. There is no vision. Their approach looks ad hoc and relies a little too much on crossing your fingers and hoping.

Well, if the rookie is going to be as good as Wiseman, I understand why Curry doesn't want the pick lol.
The team literally switched gear since Wiseman went down.

More usage for Steph. His legs look beat up and bandaged.

He's going more to the rim, absorbing contact, getting knocked down.

Team really needs another scorer to take turns. Or at least role players who can **** finish layups when Curry is trapped.

That’s the front office’s fault. They should have traded that pick and throw in their future picks this year to get an experienced second option starter.

Their plan seems to be to go younger and not make use of the once in a lifetime player. That’s why they are in the spot they are.

At this point they are out of time and they are going the way of locking Curry to big money if he wants to stay, like the Kobe Bryant retirement plan contract. It’s not a sure thing he will still stay because unlike Achilles Kobe he can still play and this team is a rebuild project that will take two more years to get there.

Curry may not play tonight at Philly because he turned his left ankle towards the end of the Celtics game.

Probably a legit reason for load management, considering his recent usage.

So Curry does play vs. 76ers, scores 49, another double digit number of 3s, Warriors win.

His usage is way up and in particular, the pick and roll usage is way up and he's nailing the pull up 3s off picks and handoffs.

Well their goal now seems to be to get into the play-in, so #13 in the draft seems pretty solid.

But as it happens, 3 of their remaining 9 games are against the Pelicans, who are 3 games behind for the #10 spot in the WC

So it's not impossible that Pelicans overtake them and no play in for GSW.

NO is #10 in the draft position so a couple of spots better draft-wise.

Minny pick is far from guaranteed.

Also edging close to falling out of the top 20. Oh well the dreams of their own top 10 FRP is long gone.

If one of Atl/Mia/NY wins two more games we keep our pick no matter what we do.

If the pick is exactly 20, we keep it.
All we need is the Lakers, at 21, to win one more game, and they clinch a better record (and lower pick) than us, which enables us to keep our first. If DET, CLE, ORL, OKC all lose out (which they easily can, since all play only play-in or better teams the rest of the way) the MIN 2nd we give up is 36.

It's going to be difficult but I will be rooting for the Lakers get a W against Houston tonight.

ATL won tonight and still has HOU and ORL to play.

The target was to squeak into the playoffs to be sure to keep the pick. They are nailing it. Winning a series would just be a cherry on top.

I hope the players put in the work together this offseason they couldn't do last offseason.

I guess their position is still dependent on the outcome of all the Play In games.

Yup. They could go from a best case scenario of #4 and #15 to no 1st round picks at all depending on how things turn out.
