I do agree. The product is just bad right now because of how Silver handles certain things. In this case, he has become content with just letting things go, but not fully disciplining all of the teams in the league. I understand that arenas aren't allowing all of their seats to be filled, but all of the other sports have had a business as usual approach, while Silver just goes with how he feels in the morning.

I agree with u, and I do wish NBA fined Kyrie Irving as well. One of my favorite players on my favorite team but dude just leaves whenever he feels like and it's annoying.

Fining an NBA team for 25k is the equivalent of fining an average joe $1

The Jazz officially sat their guys out for minor injuries.

Someone on the Spurs staff forgot to write “ankle soreness” on the report and cost the team the equivalent of pennies to a normal person.

There’s not much to see here.

Agreed. Or as some else said, it’s a lifetime achievement award for the team/coach that’s started it all. LOL

Has anyone seen OKC's roster? They made no effort to improve or be competitive at all this season or during the trade deadline. It's blatant tanking.

Really not sure how Horford is able to "rest" for 28 games without the Thunder getting fined.

Yup. When I read it on the WireTap my first thought was "this is a joke, right"?

Even the amount of the fine is ridiculous. Like.. 25k? Why is the league even bothering?

Yeah this is just Silver calling in debts from seasons past. Imagine if they totalled the fines for the Spurs resting those many, many players over many, many seasons. I’m a fan of them too ha.

This just makes no sense to me. Every team in the league has rested players at some point this season. I understand the reasoning behind this in a normal season but I think the league is sending the wrong message on this one. The fine is small, but they’re saying we don’t care about your well-being, go out and play.

Spurs have what 40 games in 63 days? That’s an insane amount.

Lebron sat out a game March 3rd for “rest”... why weren’t the Lakers fined?

I don’t think the Nets have played a single game with their entire roster all year!

They’re blatantly playing musical chairs with the injury report & taking PTO days on national television. They’ve also ducked every single marquee matchup this season.

It’s a damn joke.

Nah dude, OKC just “removed him from the rotation”.

the RS is going to turn into a complete **** fest soon (it's like half way there already) if Silver and the league office don't pull their heads out of their ass

The Nets players have actually been injured, rehabbing, in COVID protocol or for Kyries case a personal absence.

The Spurs rested 2 healthy guys without explanation, that’s why they got fined.

"a personal absence"? Just one??! bwahahahaha!

Or? OR?! So the rest of the league just got the notice for how to avoid fines. "Personal reasons". Got it

He had 3 personal absences. One for his sisters birthday, one for the birth of his child, one for the first day of Ramadan.

The media acted like he was on some spiritual journey or contemplating retirement when he was really just prioritizing his family over his job.

Players are allowed to miss games due to personal reasons. I don’t understand why people rush to defend the employer when clearly an internal agreement had been made and no harm was caused.

.

What a load of BS.

Let's just do a Kyrie then ... DNP Personal Reasons and be seen at parties and on Zoom meetings.

Every player is allowed to take off time for whatever personal reason, whenever they want. They’re dribbling balls, not working in North Korean labor camps.

How dare someone value their family time over a children’s game.

All the Spurs had to do was trot them out for a minute on court and then bench them the rest of the game...call it a day. It's their fault.
