Mike James looks good in his highlights videos, but then who doesn't? Welcome to Brooklyn.
My problem with the signing is that we need a healthy body in the worst way, over the next week. Not in May or June, but right now. Since James came from overseas, hes going to be in COVID hasn't and safety protocol until Tyler Johnson is healthy again. Durant, Harden, Perry and Claxton will also probably return by then, so rotation minutes will be few and far between period. By that time, I am not sure Mike has any role with the team.
This is a tiny signing, but in this small window of time, having another warm playable body could have had a major impact on limiting over use and repetitive stress injury potential to our big stars. No doubt Mike is good and I am glad we signed someone, but is he so much better than Napier or anyone else we could have signed, that is available to play immediately, that it's worth waiting 2 weeks or more? I have my doubts.
