Turner was way behind Mobley on offense in college.
Turner was a 10ppg 6.5rb 2.6blk 556TS college guy
Mobley is a 16ppg 8.7reb 2.9 blk 624TS guy.
If you're comparing the rim protection I get it though. Mobley was also playing with his brother in a clogged lane. Hes a guy that every scout is projecting to be even better in the pros then the system he played in USC. Hes also athletic enough to switch to guys on the perimeter on defense.

Having a mobile 7 footer like Mobley next to Stewart is so damn enticing.

Re: Your Detroit Piston Big Board
There’s nothing wrong with drafting Mobley. Nothing at all. But projecting bigs in the league is tough right now. Given the current state of the rules and the styles most teams play, you need to be a pretty special big to deserve a lot of shots. I mean, we drafted a young 6’8” dude who is bullying a lot of people. It doesn’t take that much size these days, just motor and iq.
My guy is Green, but I’d take Cade with the first pick. I’ll be really happy if we end up 4th, because Green is likely going to be there.

Re: Your Detroit Piston Big Board
Are we morphing from a five player draft to four? Lots of people seem to be cooling toward Kuminga.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Kuminga started off Gleague hot and then looked awful the rest the way so I believe many have soured on him. That said hes really young and his ceiling is sky high if he gets there. I wouldnt be upset if we end up getting him at 5 but hes for sure more boom or bust then the other top guys.

G League is actually better talent then NCAA as many in the G league were the top players on their teams in college, and lots of them are 23 to 25 years old and you don't have players that age in college. It's the main reason why Green seems like a possible #1 pick because he played so well at that level but its also a reason to not get too down on what Kuminga did there.

Re: Your Detroit Piston Big Board
Kuminga is certainly an elite athlete and has a very high ceiling - but a lower floor as compared to the other top 4 prospects. Certainly much room for growth.
My concerns are mostly due to his low shooting percentages and whether he can develop that aspect of his game. I do like the Shawn Marion comparisons, which would be an interesting fit next to Kylian.
Drafting Kuminga should the top 4 prospects be unavailable would be perfectly sensible.

I look at it as 4+1.Laimbeer wrote:Are we morphing from a five player draft to four? Lots of people seem to be cooling toward Kuminga.
Those 5 guys are going to be the top 5 picks with only Kuminga being the slightly iffy one.
