Maybe I'll wait for a definitive/ultimate edition now with this only being like 2 months away.

ETA: I didn't follow any prescribed builds, but I definitely had an SMG in my party. My main duo was a custom brawler girl and a sniper guy. Both were strong, but the brawler probably stronger. I recall being a little disappointed by how restricted the sniper was by AP. I can understand only 1 shot per turn, but it was often hard to even move into position.

Yeah, snipers are super situational. I always built them with Death Wish so that they could get off 2 attacks per turn, assuming they didn't have to move much.

Interesting stuff. My early game sniper has been a badass and the mobility stuff hasn't hurt yet. I'll keep this in mind.

One random thing that's made me chuckle. I made one character a likeness of myself, the other a MPDG in sleek gear with a blade. I was thinking a ninja assassin type character. A couple hours later she's looking like a maniac from the Borderlands universe, decked out in a welder's helmet with horns, huge armor, tank stats, and an axe that spits fire. It completely rules.

I wasn't emotionally prepared for what would happen when I dismissed a trusty pooch for a two headed goat.

Picked up the Iceborne expansion since it’s on sale, so guess I’ll be restarting Monster Hunter next.

What do you guy think of Alienware's concept UFO? Basically a far superior Switch that plays PC games.

Article is over a year old but on I just heard on a random podcast that Dell is still very much developing this and we'll see more detail about it soon.

Read on Twitter

I'm gonna play it some because it's essentially free, but between the middling reviews, the latest drive towards microtransactions, and the utter lack of next gen visual improvements it's hard not to be disappointed (that is, if the series is even still on your radar). I stopped playing a few years ago.

Same, which is really sad. Was easily my favorite sports franchise. I now don't play any :-?

It feels like sports video games are in a dark pit of despair these days. Visual and gameplay stagnation, and a hard-commit to microtransaction progression models to drive revenue and retention.

Yep, only played a few hours of Show 21 (all RTTS), but it's already incredibly underwhelming compared to last year's. Menu layout sucks, zero graphical improvement, and now it looks like they finally caved to the NBA 2K and Madden commercial model of funneling all their game modes into the dreaded micro-transaction nexus.

I honestly can't remember the last sports game that I played and truly enjoyed it. I played a bunch of the NBA 2k series a few years ago but it was a grind to catch up to my friends and once I was at their level, it wasn't that fun.

I had been playing The Show '16 since it came out and just bought '20 last weekend because my player in '16 finally retired. I was gonna get '21 but having to pay $70 while Game Pass users get it for "free" was a no go for me. Even happier with that decision after reading the lackluster reviews. I'll probably play '20 for the next 5 years.

The menus are so damn bad and the graphics look exactly the same on my PS5 as they did on my PS4 pro.

I think the last one I purchased was NBA 2K12 or 2K13. Used to enjoy them a bunch in high school/college, but fell off as they stagnated and really wasn’t feeling an annual purchase. Get the itch occasionally to orchestrate a franchise, but those features have largely been left in the dust. Too bad it’s too easy to do a $60 game plus micro transactions, because it’s a genre that I think would really benefit to moving to a games as a service model.

The big sports games have all fallen off a cliff, but none compare to how bad the tennis games have become.

We went from Virtua Tennis and Top Spin to some **** games that I can only assume are part of a money laundering scheme. To top it off they littered those new **** tennis games full of micro transactions.

I'm sure it's some rosy glasses/nostalgia, but Virtua Tennis 2 was peak tennis gaming to me. I've considered picking up AO2 just because it's gotten some 6 and 7/10 reviews, which is basically like a 47/10 given the state of tennis gaming the past decade-plus, but I still haven't pulled the trigger.

I've got a Dreamcast emulator and the first game I downloaded was VT2. It still holds up.

Wasteland 3 patch 1.4.0 introduces crafting. Might have to start a new playthrough to fully experience that before the xpac drops.
