I mean we were without Lillard but they were without Kawhi so both teams missing their "go to guy". Anyways I am a bit annoyed at the loss, but we were so ridiculously good at winning 3ish point games during most of this year that eventually it had to start to turn the other way.

Many of those games are coin flips in a lot of ways and really comes down to either a key stop or a key rebound or something that can be the difference. No Nurkic also might have been the difference in a game like this, him out there might have been at least a few point swing the other way.

nurk makes a decent difference yes but he’s been hurt so often it’s starting to feel like we could call him 50 percent nurk (healthy half the time)

yeah....close game are generally a coin flip and Portland record in close games, mainly because of Dame, was much better than it probably should have been. Those things tend to even out in the NBA. That close game winning record is why the Blazers were out-performing their expected record based on point differentials. That says they should have a 28-29 record, instead of 32-25 and I can think of 5 wins they have because Dame went ballistic in clutch time

by the way, the Clippers were also missing Ibaka, and he's been better for them this year than Nurkic has been. They were also missing Patrick Beverly

I think the George layup in the possession before should have been either traveling or a jump ball. Little, I believe, did a great job then.

We can complain about some bad calls, but we could have won. We had a shot and missed.

McCollum got George to bite on that last drive and fake. I don't know why he didn't go into him and draw the foul to win the game on the line himself, except he's not always reliable at the line.

Probably didn't want to leave the game to the refs. He had just got screwed by them. It was a good shot, just a bit too hard.
