This Nets team has HEART
It's so unfortunate that we can't get the BIG 3 on the floor together, and it seems like each time we take one step forward we take three more backwards, whether it's injuries, protocols or God only knows what comes next, and thru all of this turmoil of BIBLICAL PROPORTIONS, a level of adversity like I've rarely seen in sports, this team continues to win games they have no business winning or at least remaining competitive.
You know what that's called?
This might be showing my age. Maybe it's an outdated term and maybe it isn't. I really don't know what the Youngbloods call it today or if they still use the same terminology, but this team has HEART.
I don't mean that in the way the phrase is normally thrown around for every player and team that overcomes even an ounce of adversity. I'm talking about "CHAMPIONSHIP HEART", the kind that wins you championships.
All I know is, every other team in the league better hope this team never gets healthy and whole for the post season this year, because if it does, even with the limited minutes they will have had playing together as a unit, when you have the collective HEART OF A LION like this Brooklyn Nets team, they will steamroll any and everyone you put in their way if they, GOD WILLING, can ever get healthy and whole for the post season.
Talent and heart is a lethal, championship combination.
PERIOD.

Re: This Nets team has HEART
Thank you, WS.
I'll be the first to say that the latest injuries to Durant and Harden have dampened my enthusiasm for the postseason. We'll be shaking off the rust and tinkering with lineups and rotations, while other playoff teams will be firing on all cylinders. It's a recipe for disappointment.
That said, I've been impressed by how well we've hung together through the crucible of the regular season. And as talented as our Big 3 are, their ability to re-acclimate into the team and perform at a superstar level immediately has given me even greater respect for their talents.
We just need the NBA health and fitness gods to smile on us from here on out. We've already had our fair share. Nothing else concerns me, either inside or outside of the team.

Really not the case. almost everyone has dealt with it this year. shortened compressed schedule has been awful for player health. 76ers tons of injuries, bucks tons of injuries, heat, celtics, pacers... tons of injuries. Lakers injuries, clippers injuries, denver injuries...

Re: This Nets team has HEART
Biggest issue the nets face when they have stars out is that outside the big3 everyone else is a specialist.
Joe/Shamet/TLC are shooters
Brown is a hustle guy
Green/Blake are streth bigs
DJ/Claxton are rim rollers
We dont have that scoring role guy to help get buckets. our lone star needs to generate close to 100% of our offense. Dinwiddie would have been huge in this situation. Our guys are grinding it. harris/shamet are creating offense. Blake is doing a valiant job. jeff green steps it up.

When I say other contenders will be firing on all cylinders come playoff time, you're assuming I mean that no other team has faced adversity at any point in the season up until now. I didn't say that at all.
Yes, Utah has faced injuries and healthy (DNP-rest) scratches. Same with Phoenix, and the Clippers, and the Lakers, and the Bucks, and the Sixers, and on and on. No one's throwing us a pity party for our misfortune, everyone has battled it this season.
I'm saying that none of those teams are slated to be dealing with stars coming back from injury while the playoffs are happening. We are, 2 of them. AD is playing Thursday, Lebron will be back next week, everyone else is managing minor injuries on the fringes. Beverly is not a star, LAC have performed as well with and without him this season. Still, even he is supposed to return all before the end of the RS.
You can argue Jamal, but I never viewed Denver as a true contender. So as unfortunate as it is, I don't see his season ending injury altering their destiny. They're not going to lose a series that they would have otherwise won IMO, due to his absence. We are definitely going to lose a series IF Harden and Durant aren't healthy, that we would handily win if they are. I'm not predicting a flame-out, I'm saying their health matters that much.

Sounds like you've finally joined the Caris LeVert fan club!

Dinwiddie will return this season, perhaps even earlier than one of Kevin or James. He's been attacking his recovery since day one, and he might even play in a couple of RS games before the playoffs. He's going to be that 2nd unit leader, playmaker and scoring threat that will make us even tougher to handle.

There's only one basketball team in NY showing heart right now.

It takes heart to go 0-3 in the season series, and 2-8 in the division. The teams that know you best know you're cupcakes.

Yep, it doesn't take heart to be barely above .500 when your best players are all healthy.
Lose Randle for a month or two, then tell me about how much "heart" the Knicks have.

They risk player health because they are scared of late summer ratings, they should have stretched the season until August. this was a disastrously stupid decision by the league. You have four of the league's top 10 players on the shelf right now because of it.

I don’t understand what you guys are trying to say.
Everyone knows you guys have a dream team type of squad in terms of talent.
But heart? Lmao. The Knicks are rocky, the nets are drago. All the pressure is on you guys to win it all. Let’s see what happens.

Nah, the Knicks are Spider Rico. Scrappy but a door mat who gets laid out on the regular.
Nets have a ton more heart then the knicks.
Dinwiddie out for the year? no problem
KD out? no problem
Kyrie out? no problem
Harden out? no problem
Nets Nets 11-5 when only 1 star plays. lost tons of role guys to injuries and just continue to grind out wins with the entire world rooting for them to fail.
What heart do the knicks have? Thibs makes the play hard. great, all that and a cup of coffee got them three L's vs us and barely .500 record.

Apollo got love though. The nets get 0 love. So that’s ok.
