Re: Race to the bottom: Who's our biggest competition?
Minny beat Sacramento last night, and plays them again tonight. A Minny W tonight and they're right back in the mix with Detroit/Orlando/OKC for that 2/3/4/5 spot. I think its safe to say, looking at Houston's remaining schedule, they are almost certainly going to finish with the worst record but Minny has a chance to play themselves out of that #2 spot and into the mix with everyone else.
Right now looking at W totals.
1. Houston (15)
2. Minnesota (16)
3. Detroit (18)
4. Orlando (18)
5. OKC (20)
6. Cleveland (20)
----
Everyone else is at 23+ wins.

Yeah, at this point I think you can throw out any other teams as finishing in the bottom 6.

I'm waiting for the board to explode if we finish 6th. Small chance, but not no chance

Would've been major to have lost to the Cavs but their guards are the dumbest backcourt I've seen in a long time. Their decision making is putrid.Manocad wrote:bstein14 wrote:Minny beat Sacramento last night, and plays them again tonight. Cavs play the Bulls again today. We’re in serious trouble if they lose again.

Because we’re coming down to the end. The really bad teams only have so many “winnable” games left.

Minny absolutely has a number of winnable games and they are now healthy with their “big 3” playing well. Still terrible defensively, but they can score a bunch. They’re still in the mix along with the Pistons and others. Houston is the only team that should be comfortable in the bottom 3.

I am confident Weaver will make us go on a 14game losing streak now that we're tied with Orlando. He will follow in his mentor Presti's footsteps and tank the crap outta us.
There is no way our new regime is gonna let us fall out of that top3 spot. No way!(please

I was looking at it in context of hoping to maximize our lottery chances. The context of this thread...

I mean, I think it's pretty clear at this point who is actively looking at the game results with the perspective of wanting to maximize draft position and who is basically trying to poke fun at / troll those other folks.

Cavs up 34 to 12 after the 1st against the Bulls. I think they got this.

I mean I think it's clear who has a one track mind when it comes to building a winner and thinking the future of the world hinges upon a top 3 pick this year and this year alone, and who realizes it's not "Top 3 or die".Invictus88 wrote:Snakebites wrote:DetroitSho wrote:But why would the Pistons be in serious trouble?

No, he's right. You're trolling (or perhaps mocking is a better word) other posters, like you always do. It's annoying.

It’s reasonable to not be overly concerned with our lottery position.
But if you’re not concerned with it the reasonable course of action is to post in other threads, rather than repeatedly needling people who do want to talk about it.

Difference of opinion = trolling. Gotcha.
If the Pistons are really in trouble if they're not in the top 3, that means you guys will no longer watch then right? Because all is lost then right? Or do you pick up and go to plan B? That's the difference between me and you, I actually think there's a such thing as a plan B to building a winner.

Come on man, you just don't state a difference of opinion. You talk in a condescending tone in every post, every single one.
I would say you come off as mocking people, not necessarily trolling, although I guess they kind of go hand in hand.
You can disagree with people without coming off as a bit of a jerk to be quite frank. It's not that difficult to have civil debate which most posters do here.

That's funny because I asked why the Pistons would be in serious trouble if the Cavs lost.NYPiston wrote:DetroitSho wrote:On this board:

*status update, they're pounding Chicago*
And another poster made a passive aggressive post directed towards me. The Pistons being in trouble with a Cavs loss is just not a fact, it's an OPINION. One that I don't subscribe to. I have the right to express my disagreement. Sue me for not being shook about something the team has no control over.
Bottom line, depending on the performance of another team as the biggest factor of your future success is not the way to build a winner in my opinion. I'd be willing to bet Weaver would agree.
