This thread took a really sad turn, don't even feel like discussing prospects. Rest in peace to Terrence.

Wow! This really has me in my feelings. To think the kid was about to go to the league, live his dream and have it all. Life is short people. Please remember what's important in life because it can be taken from you at a moments notice. RIP Terrance Clarke

The overall point is, Melo, is that you probably should refrain from talking down to other posters about their draft predictions, when your own draft predictions have been so incredibly awful in the past. That's the point, Mr. 3ToHeadMelo.
talking down? all i said was that scottie barnes isn't going to be in our range, so there's no point in putting him on the poll. you're the one going on some delusional rampage posting irrelevant takes from over 3 years ago cause you're so butthurt he's not on the poll. get help kid.
and since you're so obsessed with my draft picks why don't you post all the players i've hit on? you won't. cause it makes you look even dumber again.
You post the same thing over and over again. Don't you get tired of that? I said you won like 5 posts ago. Take the W, my friend!

Ben Simmons turned out well and there are other good players from Australia (Bogut, Ingles, Baynes, Mills) so I wouldnt factor that in too much. Ball and Hampton transitioning good from the league too.
Jumpshot is a concern. But I like his passing and other tools enough to gamble that he can improve the jumper. A lot of good prospects come in with shaky jumpers and improve, even on our team with RJ, Randle. Not everyone does but its worth the risk around where we will be picking.
Like his passing/vision/feel as great tools to build from
I think Simmons is a massive disappointment on offense, he is good, but you can definitely make a case for Brown, Ingram and even Siakam being better from that draft. Definitely wouldn't call LaMelo/Hamtpon Australian prospects either, I mean the guys born and raised there that developed in their system.
If we're going to go with guys that have poor shots, it might be better to look at someone like Jalen Johnson who has similar strengths but is a much better athlete with the potential to be a multi-positional defender.
I don’t really see much reverence to Giddey though. I wouldn’t rule anyone out based on where they were born/raised especially these days. The difference with Simmons is even in college he barely attempted any 3s. Giddey at least attempts them and makes over 1 a game. Think it’s at least fixable/improvable. Volume is an important metric too.
I wouldn’t call Ball/Hampton Australian prospects either, but they played in the same league at the same age. The comparison would be how those guys looked compared to Giddey. Giddey is putting up pretty good numbers in comparison.
FWIW since 2/15, Giddey is shooting 22/58 from three which is good for 38%. So I'm not really sure if he's bad shooter but more of a developing one. I'm not exactly a shot doctor but I don't think he's form is broken either. So it's more likely he just needs to get more reps before he becomes more consistent. It's also pretty cool that he's leading the whole league in assists per game.

Anyone like Juzang if he decides to stay in the draft? That shot looks effortless. 87% free throw shooter to go along with that.
Wouldn’t mind taking him with the early 2nd round pick

As everyone can now see, Melo was on the Knox bandwagon and pushing for the Knicks to draft them since February of 2018.
With that track record, Melo, you really shouldn't be judging other people's opinions on players in the draft.![]()

![]()
Shouldn't be flapping your jaws so much acting like you're some super talent evaluator when it's so easier for people to look at your past results. And Knox is just the beginning, I could post 4 more players you were salivating over who have turned into busts. Not a good look, bruh.
I also see you fighting with so many posters back then. I see you pick fights with everyone and you act the same way you do now. As if you know something, when you really don't know much.
Especially after seeing your pathetic draft predictions on here, I'll stick with my own evaluations, thanks. Bye Melo!
Everyone knows that i hopped off the knox bandwagon after watching him play in college. i liked him in high school. but thanks for posting something irrelevant and making yourself look dumb as usual. you can keep posting my old takes cause you keep showing to everyone you're a previously banned poster. and i never claimed to be an expert anyways which you claim i am. so i guess you're one of my biggest fans since you're obsessed with my posts from over 3 years ago. also, thanks to one of the site mods, we know that you stanned a complete garbage player terrence williams from one of your previously banned accounts. that's pretty embarassing.
Okay, I'll be back. You never give up, do you? Just admit it. You're a fraud who posts 25 players and predicts they'll be good every year, and you're bound to be right every once in awhile. Everyone knows that too, Melo.

4 draft options that i haven't seen talked about on here yet but i don't go through every page in this thread, if i did then i'm sure melo mentioned them somewhere on his regular season very long list of draft prospects he likes.....

Re: 2020-2021 College/Draft Thread Part 3
Yes he's a stick figure and yes he won't be ready to play big minutes right out of the gates...but god damn would I love to watch Ziaire playing next to Rowan & Julius in a couple of years. The length, athleticism & intelligence would be great in our defense, while his stroke & vision would complement those two physical slashers beautifully...assuming Williams eventually fills out and learns that not every pass needs to be 100 mph.
I totally get the questions people have and there is some risk that he won't make all of the progress that I think he will, but it's still hard for me not to see a top 10 talent when I look at his tools, intelligence & how well he understands the game...I just love how he already uses the threat of his stepback to freeze defenders before hitting a wide-open cutter.
Really hope we are able to capitalize on his cursed season.

Thanks for the DN article. I like them all. For 2nd round either JRE or ZB look especially good.

First vote for Sharife Cooper in the poll. Of the guys I have seen that is whom I would want for the Knicks. He is someone we actually have a shot at as well.
He has the best handle in the draft, great vision, good passer, moves well, plays tough for his size. He averaged 20 pts and 8 assists as a freshman.
Is he going to be below avg defensively? Yes but he plays tough and hard. Rebounds well for a smaller player.
Does he need to improve his shooting? Yes but he is 82.5% from the line so I am optimistic he can be above average.
Love everything else.

There's just too much there to fix. Even if it was only the defense where maybe you can hide it but you're witnessing a stud offensive player then maybe. But the percentages, he takes lousy shots. Box score numbers look good and the guy can make some great passes. I just think of guys Thibs would be willing to play. I just dont see it but you never know. Thibs while loving defense tends to like scoring PGs. It could work but he's gotta become a way more efficient scorer (and defender) for me to endorse it.

My guy at guard is Ayo Dusomnu. In fact I'm pretty surprised he's not getting more love. I get his age but there are other guys like Duarte, Mitchell and Butler getting noticed. Idk tbh.
Box score stats look awesome, decent percentages and he gets into the paint easy, solid defender. Reminds me alot of Kira Lewis last yr but about this time last yr Kira was an early 2nd rounder who then rose. I might not grab him as high as Kira but at picks 21&22 it really starts to become a matter of "who fits what we do or improves upon what we do" as at this point you're probably past the point of franchise transformative talents, right? I mean sometimes you see that Poku type guy who misses the lottery but has long term potential. I'll be honest I wouldve passed on Poku. Maybe I should've taken the chance. Its sortve how I feel about Giddy who I see many of you like. I may be wrong about him too but I'm not looking for diamonds in the rough, I'm looking for plug and play players.
So with that said
-I might not discriminate against older players. I'm not looking for projects, I want nba ready players even if the cieling isn't as high. (Not interested in the Franks and Knox's of the draft)
-must be a plus defender. This is what NY sounds like, nuff said
-Efficiency. I'm tired of teaching players how to shoot.
- Don't look at the draft as an answer to all my problems. There's still trades and FA but with that said we may need to draft players at positions you already think are solid. For instance I like Dayron Sharpe. Why tho when we got Noel and Mitch? Well because maybe one will price themselves out of NY.
Anyway, I've said alot. Not saying Ayo fits everything I've mentioned but to me he's a good start. I just wanted to share more of my overall strategy for the knicks

The reason I'm higher on Butler than Ayo is simply that I'm more confident in his shooting translating...and because of that, I'm more confident in his penetration and his ability to be a positive contributor despite being a middling defender. Ayo shot very well this season, but I'm not as confident that he'll be nailing NBA 3s as I am Butler...and if Ayo ends up a below average 3pt shooter that limits a lot of the other stuff he does well.
Once we get out of the top X of a draft, I like guys that have a clear NBA skill that they'll be able to build out from than these more all-around prospects who might have a few NBA skills, but none of which you can bank on. That's why Butler and Mann interest me more than Ayo.
