He is close to the 50/40/90 club.
Just 1% shy on 3pt and FT.

I would hope all the Bridges doubtors realize that he is still getting better and we would end up really missing all the future Ball to Bridges highlights if we let him go. The guy is still improving and young. Developing our draftees is important.

Agreed. He's a role player at best.
They need to be rapidly shuffling the deck to find a second, young high level player for Melo

Re: Birdland Presents: The Miles Bridges Thread
I was really impressed with Bridges' intensity and will to win last night. I think he is starting to figure out just how good he can be. Miles still has things he has to work on: decision-making, boxing out, where to be on defense, even when to shoot the long ball on occasion. But the Brooklyn game shows what he can be in the very near future, this season.
As with a lot of guys, starting gives him confidence, and he builds on that. He has played 30 minutes per game for the last nine games. His FG% is up to .510, and his 3P% up to .396. His rebounding numbers have been coming up lately, too.

So what happens when Gordon is healthy again?

He moves back into the starting lineup. That much is simple.
The questions will be
If, and how much, does Miles eat into his and (more likely) PJ's minutes?
Does Miles continue his aggressive scoring output or if he goes back to passive Miles?
It changes his entire outlook if he can keep up the scoring efficiency and be more than just an energy guy

I admittedly haven't watched nearly enough of Julius Randle as I'd like, but to those of you that have is there any chance Bridges can become a more explosive Randle? Watching the Knicks Pelicans right now and Randle is a freaking handful.

If he's going to be on that Batum bs that he was on for a stretch prior to the injury, he should come off the bench with Monk, Washington, and Graham.
Imagine that...a bench of Graham, Monk, Hayward, Washington, and Zeller. That's all organic growth too...not needing three superstars who attract other good to star players. That bench is a legitimate starting lineup. This is exactly what I mean when I say on paper we are really really good.
But anyways, Miles needs to stay in the starting lineup. Period.

i want to believe tbh. mitch's drafting has been on point and if miles has the ability to take a huge leap forward like randle did after how many years then why not?
randle went from taking a single a jumpshot in an entire month as a college player to calling his own number to confidently take 3s as a team's best player. not exactly the same thing, but assertively looking for his own shot like he has lately is an enormous shift for the guy who used to only cut for lobs just a month ago.
sucks it took the entire starting line up to die more or less, but its always been mental with the guy. could just be that simple lol

Assuming Bridges will actually continue to act like he cares and utilize his insane skillset...it's going to be a fun team for a very long time once Ball is back.

The team is 1-4 since the take, and his stock is still at all time high. So I don't think the take aged that poorly. Though the pieces coming back would definitely need to be better than a month ago. Just depends on the price tag.
(Lakers didn't have LeBron / AD so every game except Brooklyn was winnable even with the depleted squad. We've had awful injury luck but we still have gotten a lot of games where teams have their stars injured/sitting like Milwaukee/Portland that have helped us steal games we normally wouldn't. )

Re: Birdland Presents: The Miles Bridges Thread
Bridges is probably our second best player (though Hayward and Terry have solid arguments too) and is still improving. I am glad we are not writing off our young core but instead developing it. Hopefully PJ makes the leap next year too. Both of those guys are just starting to get their adult man core strength and the necessary NBA coaching to replace their missed college years and it is showing up in the results.

Re: Birdland Presents: The Miles Bridges Thread
I like the progress Miles seems to have made and hope he keeps it up, but I think its jumping the gun a bit to say hes better than Hayward or Rozier.
