Wasn't alive to see Tom Seaver, but I feel lucky I am getting the chance to witness DegGrom play.

For those who have seen both, how do they compare? I see Degrom dominate and then see Seaver's stats just to realize what a powerhouse he really was.

deGrom has been Gibsonesque this season. I remember that season, 1968. I believe Drysdale and Gibson battled it out for the record of most consecutive scoreless innings in a row. It was something like 57 innings. I forget who one but I do remember that Drysdale lost his streak when he "hit" Dick Dietz with a pitch with the bases loaded that Dietz did not get out of the way on. It was clear as day too. It was an unfortunate way for Drysdale to lose his streak.

Gibson won the MLB ERA title that year with a 1.12 ER. I believe they lowered the mound after that season.

Even though we lost 2-1, I loved this home plate umpire. I’d take him 162 games a season. This game took about 2 hours 40 minutes. Praise The Lord.

he pitched the day before and it was a non save situation...Diaz clearly had no idea where the ball was going. He shouldn't have been in the game.

he also left the game with back tightness. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt since he's been good all year.

Rojas is a big detriment. Imagine if a team with 55 win talent hired Fizdale to coach them? Need a baseball Thibs who isn’t paralyzed when it counts.

Yeah I agree. Bullpen as a whole has been a pleasant surprise so far. Hopefully Diaz shakes off the back issue and the bad outing.

I’ve been on the fence about Rojas. I think he’s a good guy and knows the game, but he feels miscast as a manager.
