This could either be really good or really bad these next two games.

We haven't played them since we won to go 2-0 to start the year.

is there anyway we're showcasing Rubio? That's why he's starting in place of a healthy Dlo. If we do keep top 3, maybe top 3+beasley+rubio for a superstar? Maybe for Simmons if philly stink in the playoffs. Dlo/Edwards/Simmons/McDaniels/Towns. We need a DPOY caliber player to play some defense for us.

I think the showcasing stuff gets overblown, particularly with players who are vets like Rubio. Teams know who they are and what they bring, starting him for 12 more games won't magically raise someone's interest IMO.

If we're "showcasing" I think it's only going to help repair any value that might've been lost in the first half of the season. But overall I agree with Calinks.

How’s that opponents FG% doing so far Klomp?

Guarantee that if we had decent defenders who scored at a slightly lower rate, we’d be winning.

I am throwing a house party when we rid ourselves of DLo.
I’m popping some corks when we move Towns to PF and get a legit center.

What does is say to a young 19yo, when the max players on the team suck so bad at defense?

It says “yoI don’t need to play d to get paid”.

Got to do whatever it takes to stop this three-point defense from happening next season, can't win games when every team is shooting 50 percent from three on you, this happens next season should be a fireable offense.

I feel like I am surprised these days when opponents don't score 40 pts in first quarters these days...really pathetic defense

Getting rid of Vanterpool should help. Hopefully Finch brings in someone who’s as gifted with defense as he is with offense.

It's a bigger problem than just our star players IMO. Dlo doesn't play I the first 5 minutes, teams still go off. Teams go off when Towns is on the bench, it's a system/roster-wide issue. It's embarrassing and bad but I don't think you can hang it on one or two guys.

We need a real big (probably star level) next to KAT, we need veteran guys getting big minutes, and we need a better defensive scheme. Team is clueless.

Very true.
Vets with game IQ and a team wide process of implementing roles would do wonders.
DLo needs to go for more than just bad D though. He’s toxic in the sense that he both gets paid the max and gets guaranteed playing time without showing the effort and putting the team first (or so it feels at times). What is toxic about that is that this team has a lot of youth, and to subject youth to that type of player and then try to tell them to play hard and play for the team is hypocritical.

I'm hoping for a huge accountability raise next season. I think we need some vet guys to call stuff out, not all players have that leadership style and I know KAT tries to lead in his ways but that's not him, we need a couple of KG, Butler, Deng, Chris Paul, etc. types who will hold their teammates accountable and talk on defense. We also need older guys who have BBIQ and know what they are doing.

We are too young and careless/airheaded and even if 4 guys are I the right spot it just takes one to screw the defense up. A major change has to take place between this season and next, probably means bringing in a big time defender to the frontcourt. I think KAT could be pretty good actually on D if he has a bigger guy next to him and he's playing with mindfulness, I would be pretty interested to see KAT at PF.

The good news is the offense is a lot better looking than earlier in the season. Our defense is total shambles but at least we can get buckets, something really has to be done about the defense though.

That lineup at the end of the 2nd was great, like yeah obviously can't be that intense for 48 minutes but with that type of energy more often than not this team shows promise at least.

Let's show that early season win was not a fluke. Let's go 'Wolves!

I wonder how Rubio feels when he sees the standings? Both Jazz and Suns are at the top, bet he feels good for them doing that well. Might hurt a bit for him, but I think he's happy for them doing well.

Good thing I missed most of the 1st qtr. Alan Horton on the radio is fabulous calling it as it is.

Down by 6 at the half is pretty good all things considered.

It's almost as if they told Ant to throttle down and see what others can do for most of the 1st half. Then at the end of the second they said get after it and he did.

Maybe they're so good they can turn it on and off by will? Is anybody buying that? I didn't think so.:)
