Next time I'm in a rut I should go back to that and Dead Cells. I got the good ending in Hades but I think I only cleared it with the shield.

I should definitely play more Dead Cells, too. I think I’ve only cleared it once or twice?

If you’ve only cleared with shield, definitely try out some different weapons as build diversity has been quite fun. Definitely give Chiron aspect bow a try if you’re thinking of wading back in. Basically any time you strike a foe with the standard attack you mark them for your arrow volley cast to heat seek them. Lets you do nuts single target damage to melt bosses. Any boon that alters your special can be fun: slow from Demeter, weak from Aphrodite, doom from Ares, etc...

I’m on my eighth consecutive clear now, hoping I can get the good ending tomorrow.

Agree on bow with Chiron, I have the second most clears with that set up after rail with Eris. I got my first clear with shield but it’s actually one of my least favorite weapons. Just checked and out of 53 clears I only used shield 5 times.

I haven’t played in a bit but maybe I should pick it back up. I was doing good but then the increasing heat levels started getting tricky. Extreme Measures can be a beast on the last two bosses.

Be sure to go get 'em.

I'm reinstalling Cyberpunk (100 damn GBs, sheesh) but in the meantime I'm checking out a couple of these downloads. Glad I picked them up when they were free. Subnautica looks really, really interesting.

DQB2 is super broken on PC and the only reason I haven't yet picked it up on Steam. Maybe 10% of players or so it seems can't make it past the tutorial at all - the game totally locks-up, and SE hasn't patched it once in three years. So hopefully it fares better on game pass.

And I assume you're playing on a Series machine anyhow.

Good info. I was posting more as a PSA thing for anyone who hasn't checked it out, since I've already played an insane amount on PS4. Thanks again.

Starting a completely new character in Cyberpunk. Male, different background. It's gonna kill me to not be able to romance Judy, the GOAT. But playing this for 15 minutes and it blows my mind to think that so many people skipped on it. It's just an amazingly incredible game and easily the gold standard for open worlds.

The one to go for would be the Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition. If you have Game Pass, it's on there. Has aged very well (though the voice acting gets a bit strange in this one, as they had to recast a few roles after voicing new scenes 10 years after its original release), story is pretty tight, and the cast of characters is quite enjoyable. Some (probably myself included) would say it's the best in the series.

Yeah, I consider Vesperia to be the pinnacle of the Tales franchise, with Abyss (remaster when?) a close second. Vesperia was stuck in XBox 360 hell for a long time, but has aged quite well. Great cast, great localization, great combat, and the third act is only a little nonsensical! The voice acting is generally good, but wobbles a bit with some of the definitive edition stuff due to Namco-Bandai not wanting to pay for Troy Baker to return.

I feel the same way except Panam was my favorite. If you play on PC, you can romance both!

Timeliness alert @MikeIsGood - the Tales of series is on sale on Steam if you don't have Game Pass as mentioned previously. Berseria is like $7 and is good, and Vesperia is $10 which is great. Symphonia is $3 I think, but it is very dated (even though I love it personally) and will be noticeably so. Skip Zestiria unless you like playing bad games and want to have your impression of the Tales of series ruined.

I'll probably pick up one of them, either to play now or later.

I'm in a big gaming rut right now and don't feel like playing anything really, so I might wait things out until the Mass Effect trilogy drops and take about a month or so to step away. I'm randomly playing a Civ 6 game, but it'll probably just be one. Will see of the Tales game catches with me, but might need to revisit.

Still haven’t played Cyberpunk. I was waiting to play until the PS5 version came out and I’ve honestly forgot about the game. Is there any news on when a next gen version will be available?

Could go with PC but want something to play on PS5.

Honestly it looks and plays like it's a proper next gen, and the upgrade to PS5 will be free when it drops later this year. If you're ever looking for something new to play, I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up.

I offer a much different opinion. I found the game nearly unplayable. Not because of bugs (I was playing on a Ryzen 5800x and 3080), but because it wasn't enjoyable. Maybe it's because I watched a lot of the pre-launch videos over the last four years and can tell how many things they cut, who knows. I put about 15 hours in and just couldn't get into it.

If it was $30 I'd probably say buy it but I wouldn't pay any more than that.

There are enough people who still say this about the game that it's kept me from jumping in. It's weird how big of a gap there is on it, bugs aside. Maybe I'd love it like half the people seem to, but at this point I don't care enough and am content to wait out a $20 sale a year from now.

I wonder if the number of people who say that didn't make it out of the about 12-15 hour prologue. It's a pretty structured and linear trip for about that much time until it opens up and the real game actually stars.

You should head over to Nexus Mods if missing content was you're biggest complaint. More and more of the things that got cut are being brought back by modders.

I didn't follow anything cp2077 leading up to it's release and I'm pretty happy about that because I know I'd be disappointed by some of the things not included that I've now read about. I've played through 3 times now though to get the various endings & achievements, I have very much enjoyed my time with it. I actually own it on 3 different platforms - Stadia (it was free), Steam and Xbox.
