Just a couple notes on tonight: Suns lost already and looked far from world beaters, C's got pumped by Charlotte and Trae-less Hawks play healthy Bucks

I was randomly thinking that the pace the Knicks play at is reminiscent of the 2008-09 Lakers.

So I looked at the numbers and the teams are indeed really close:

95.49 for the 2008-09 Lakers, 96.43 for the 2020-21 Knicks.

Except the Knicks rank dead last in the NBA, while the Lakers ranked fifth. Game has evolved, to say the least.

I want Bos or Atl to win enough games to get the 5th seed though. Do not want to see miami in a series.

Spo is a great coach and he basically he exploited us in terms of game planning to expose Payton starting. And he has Bam to defend Randle (which is probably the best defender Randle will see).

Bos and Atl don't have anyone to defense Randle...that would give us the advantage in both series IMO.

The Suns are a legitimate title contender because of him, this is virtually the same roster as last year but with him instead of Rubio.

Are they though?

Borderline contender....

Wish we had Bogie, he's such a baller.

McMillan is a good coach too, reminds me of Thibs a little.

Edit: Also these white Hawks jerseys are fire.

Really, and I mean really, not a fan of Giannis's game.

Are we going to be just 3,5 games behind the Bucks?

I think timelord and capellaa have something to say about that...

Slow the tempo and make it a halfcourt game, put enough shooters on the floor to give yourself a chance offensively, and bait Giannis into becoming a scorer in the 4th quarter.

There's been something wrong about the chemistry of that team since last season. They don't look like a tight-knit group or a cohesive unit imo. I think it's an issue when the locker room knows they can't rely on the franchise player to do the heavy-lifting down the stretch, maybe with the exception of Shaq, who was a far more charismatic leader than Giannis. Middleton has been carrying them in the 4th quarter for years.

Both are good players but if you think Timelord or Capella are guarding Randle at the 3 point line effectively I don't believe that for one second. Both of them are rim protectors. They aren't guarding randle on the perimeter. Just like Randle has destroyed ATL every game and Capella hasn't stopped him...he wont stop him in the playoffs either.

Randle is scoring outside, in the paint and at the rim. It is hard to overcommit at range as he'll go by you and if that brings double and triple team coverage to meet him in the paint he still has the ability to get by them, step back and pop which has been money or pass. Randle has become disruptive
