I forget which podcast said it but on the subject of Randle, he learnt from Kobe that you could get a Minneapolis high school to open the gym for you to get shots up after they landed and so he started doing the same.

Kobe's whole thing was (to paraphase their paraphrasing) "It doesn't matter when you land, just try to get some shots up no matter where you are"

Hey guys, great twitter thread of Scott Williams candidly speaking about his behind the scenes experience with the Bulls.

Poor Dipo. The report from Miami is that "nothing indicates he will be a viable playoff competitor for Miami this season." It's been more than 2 years now since he ruptured his right quad tendon, and he has yet to recover. This injury is staring to look like a career ender.

That is awesome stuff from from Scott Will. He should seriously write a book about that season. He spins it well and writes with a sense of humor and pace that makes you want more. I hope he keeps it up.

Get him behind a microphone. As we've been writing, most of the ex-players who are announcing at the national level are pretty bad. Scott seems as if he would be a major improvement. But I fear that the guys tend to be hired because they were star players, not because they are suited for the job.

MPJ is who we hoped/expected that Lauri would become.

Yeah.. I have never been more wrong about a player than I was about him. Kid has been healthy and has played great. I'm a Nuggets fan so I'm happy to see it and eat crow on that one.

The Hornets are so much fun (when they don’t play the Bulls, apparently).

Borrego deserves a lot of credit.

No Lauri was going to become Dirk. Carter should have been MPJ.

Lauri = Dirk
Dougie = Pale Pierce
WCJ = Horford
PWill = Kawhi

We've had some great draft picks in recent years.

I thought Ben Gordon could maybe be a better shooting Baron Davis…

…and then I saw him dribble against NBA defenses.

Man KD is ridiculous. He can fall out of bed, play with one sock on and still drop 30.

MPJ was always a higher level prospect then Lauri. The injury and missing most of his year in college is what dropped his value. His upside and potential was always there. Not taking him at 7 may end up being one of GarPax’s biggest mistakes.

Passing on the Houston extension is going to sting. He wanted Miami and Miami was willing to trade for him to get a trial before paying him.
I don't see Riley giving him a meaningful contract unless it is an expiring (Pat will pay a guy anything if its on a 1-year deal)

Yeah ate crow on that pick. Though he was a huge gamble. Sometimes I think GMs look at mock drafts and pick from there.

I definitely was in the camp that he inevitably was going to get hurt again or simply not perform despite buckets of talent. When he kept dropping down to 14 or whatever, I thought my opinion was justified. Nnnnnnope. If we'd snagged him, people would have bemoaned it, pundits woulda argued if we took too big a gamble at #7.

But daaaaaamn he'd look good in the jersey now eh? Effin' hindsight.

MPJ has become one of those players that every time he shoots a 3, you feel like it's going in. Every. Time. He doesn't miss many open threes and he can get that shot over most players. When I watch the Nuggets I feel like every one of his shots is gonna drop. It's almost Steph like. Kid is shooting over 44% from deep on high volume. He's also a good rebounder that gets timely boards when you need them. He still needs to work on some things but he's got it going.

I was on the MPJ wagon that draft, even with his injury history, I wanted MPJ 7th and Mitchell Robinson 22nd(?), I also wanted Garland in his draft too, didn't think the Cavs would pick him with Sexton on the roster already.

I always try to check out MPJ highlights and box scores.

What could have been...
Go Bulls... I guess!? Right!?
