If the Wolves do in fact beat the Rockets tomorrow, Orlando would be in sole possession of the 2nd worst record with just 11 games to play.

For the Magic pick, less so for the Bulls pick. Washington lost and the Bulls won. The good news here is that the Raptors also won so there was no separation there.

Re: Race for Ping Pong Balls
Orlando is currently 1/2 game worse than #4 Detroit
Orlando is currently 1/2 game better than #2 Minnesota (and tied in the W column)
Chicago is currently 1 game worse than #10 and #11 New Orleans and Washington
Chicago is currently 1 game better than #7 Sacramento
The computers now like Orlando to finish as the 2nd worst team and Chicago as the 8th worst team. I think that is the sweet spot for both draft picks. The computers also has the Bulls making the play-ins at 20% (i.e. there is an 80% chance that either Washington or Toronto finishes with a higher record).

If ???
Houston is in PowerTank mode (i.e. actively trying to lose) and Minny is in PlayerDevelopment mode (i.e. actually trying to win).
A Rockets win would be a surprising result. That said, the team has been competitive lately and was not horrible in in the last game Wall missed.

I also chuckled when I read that.
Augustin is also out, so there will be more forward-driven ball movement, I guess.

We had no business winning against Chicago and yet we won. You never know. Never thought i will cheer for Wolves.
My money is on Banchero going number 1 !
