MPJ was an understandable pass when he had a back injury that would have been a huge risk for a woeful Knicks team to take with a lottery pick that Denver being an already stacked playoff team could afford to take later on.

Although with the Knicks desperately needing a PG them passing on DMitch, Shai and then Hali is inexcusable. Don't give me the BPA and 'you never know who' excuses I was someone who had those 3 on my radar for picks and questioned the guys who the Knicks took at the time of draft.

Rose has done an admirable job as a stop gap this season but he's a guy who does well against the bottom 2/3s of the league yet the Suns game shows he might not be enough against top competition. Quickley is quite a scorer and has shown some chops with the ball in his hands but he still needs to develop some as a PG.

Who are they going to have the opportunity to get in this year's draft? Butler? I like that guy, he's a solid high floor kid but I see him as potentially a better shooting Brunson that sure, Thibs may be able to turn into a very serviceable PG on a team that doesn't need the super facilitator type but I doubt he has star upside.

Will it be Springer? Sure he has the 'star' upside who did well at the college level but if he doesn't figure out how to shoot and be a PG at the pro level we could be looking at a guy who in his third season we are wondering if he ever is going to put it all together and fulfill the potential he tantalizes with.

Giddey? Are you ready to roll the dice on the skinny Aussie kid who may be the best passer/facilitator in the draft but can he shoot? What position can he defend? Interesting prospect for sure but is this the type of guy who Thibs embraces? I haven't seen enough of him to know him so will be watching everything I can to learn.

Cooper? The undersized PG is a super facilitator but hasn't shown he can shoot at the college level so want to hope he does as a pro? Who will he guard, too? Are they going to take another combo and hope they figure out how to be a PG in the NBA?

Will the Knicks be throwing the bag at the crusty vet like Lowry who may be a short term solution but not much more than a stop gap guy that doesn't really put them over the top. CP might be more than that on the Knicks in the east but he'd cost even more than that....I don't see him leaving PHX anyway.

Will they be opening the vault for a younger vet like Schroder? There's always a risk with disturbing chemistry in landing these types of FAs after signing them to big long contracts that it will require to lure him away from a yearly title threat with LeBron in LA.

Maybe they go for the up and coming player in Lonzo that has some potential left to grow into? Still will cost a hefty bag to discourage his RFA rights team from matching and will he fulfill the upside that the salary slot he'll consume requires to take the next step as a team?

The draft is still the most cost effective way to acquire the highest upside talent but the Knicks have been questionable in their choices even including the current regime. They will need to do a better job if they hope to get this franchise to title contender.

Trades and FA requires other teams and players to agree so have less degree of control but even though a draft is an unknown risk and not every player you want is there to pick the ones that are there to pick come with no agreeing required.

The Knicks need one more player to hit in the draft that has 'star potential' in my opinion regardless of what they do with trades or FA...that rookie contract talent is so important to building teams into title contenders. Even star phuckers like LAL and BKN needed that young talent as assets to get their phucking done.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.

outside of the top 5 or so i really haven't paid much attention. and i hardly did that too. i promised myself i wouldn't get involved in this all year to only end up 8th or 9th. we won't even do that now. i'll have to do research when it gets closer and see where we're picking.

okoro dropped 20 pts last night? Why the okoro hate today?

he's having his best offensive output month and growing. The shooting will need to come along for him to take the next step for sure as that isn't good...but that was expected especially for him.

he's had a good month of april

10.4 pts

on 8.4 shots

47.8% from the field
31% from 3
78% from the line

Overall his offense has been pretty bad, agree there...but that was expected. He is constantly put on the best offensive guard/wing for the cavs because there defense sucks and he is a good defender. Most rookies struggle but I think he he improves his shooting he will be a solid impact player.

not really impressed. he’s a lot like Josh Jackson to me. if he develops a jumper he’ll be good but without it he’s not good. that jumper is pretty broken
