I really like Wagner moving forward. Hopefully he is a 3rd stringer audition.

Collins looks like he got smaller this year. Maybe he's really off them now.

I don't mind the signing, but I actually liked Franks as a deep bench guy to keep looking at for the future.

If we really got Mo as our 3rd string C. Why did we cut Franks instead of Hall?

Congrats, Moe!
Watched you play for Michigan a lot when I was following Colin.
You'll do good things in this league and hopefully, for the Magic.

Why did 3(???) teams give up on him already? Like what are his weaknesses that teams just cut him? With BOS glaring need for size, you would think they need him to just stand there in the paint.

In Washington, Wagner was regularly lost on plays. Likewise he gets bullied alot on the inside. He was basically a guy who would come in energize the team for about a minute or so then just be a net negative on court for the rest of the game

I looked into his stats after he was cut by the Celtics. He sort of makes sense for this roster at this time, but I think we've seen enough to know what he is. His glaring issues are a high turnover rate, low rebounding rate, and lack of rim protection. He mostly plays center, but he doesn't give you most of what you need from the position. He's active and mobile, but he isn't actually good at anything other than picking up cheap fouls. The 3PAr and FT% give cause to believe that he could be a threat as a shooter, but he just hasn't been good at it thus far. Even if he could shoot, does that make up for his deficiencies? I don't think so. He's six fouls on your deep bench or he is a tank commander. He isn't a prospect.

Lakers I wouldn’t really count, they basically needed to get him and a couple other guys off their payroll to complete the Anthony Davis trade.

Washington it makes you wonder.

Boston had a whole bunch of centers and kornet seemed to be more versatile.

All that and beyond his skills on offense he’s kind of a limited player. Makes sense as a project big though.

Yea pretty much turnovers and providing very poor spacing, despite being viewed as "shooter".
But as you mentioned, he just has those ugly games where in 15 mins he commits 5 turnovers somehow.

Well, he is signed just for this season, so it's not a big deal, let's see what he can do and that's it.

And-1

Look, Wagner's roll is as a practice squad player. He is the prototype of a non-playable 3rd stringer. As you note, his VERY low rebounding rate is not acceptable. The team cannot afford court time for a big that cannot box out.

Wager is not an upgrade over Birch, for example. But he is a very good fit for this team now in developing Bamba and Carter.
