Simons probably hasn't gotten enough credit lately for being a good shooter. He's 42.4% so far for the season on 3s. He is around 44 and 45% for 3s the last 2 months.

Congrats to Simons. Going to sting when we trade him for Oladipo or Beal or some understandable but short sighted move.

It'll be interesting to see if Powell's departure in free agency will give us an over-sized TPE that
we could potentially use if ownership allows it.

He was pretty bad in this game but he has scored in double digits in almost every game in Portland, including a very impressive 32 points against the Clippers on 18 shots. His defense is hit or miss on this team, but I think Toronto has better defensive schemes and thus why he looked better there.

We have plenty of quality defenders on the roster and there is no reason this team should be 29th out of 30 in defense.

The defense is baffling indeed, i’d expect at least a top 20 defense but to be basically dead last speaks volumes to what has or maybe better put hasn’t been done schematically

I think our defense got even worse with powell if that’s possible... We went small ball when our d was already struggling and Norm even if he is a good defender (i question that label some gave him namely olshey) clearly isn’t meant to defend the 3 especially the taller wings of the west. Jones quite obviously is better geared to defend the superior wings we often face

+ 15.7/100 possessions v. +5.7/100 possessions. First is the starting 4 with Powell; the second is the starting 4 with Jones. If Jones defense is that much better with the starters than Powell's; then Powell's offense must be better massively than Jones with this lineup. Whatever, the net thus far favors Powell rather than JOnes, with Lillard, McCollum, Nurk, and Covington.

Scheme??? What defensive scheme works well with Enes Kanter starting 36 of your 61 games? Kanter backups the porous Lillard and McCollum. Please tell me what magical scheme makes works with that reality. Some problems don't yield to plans.

It's obvious Powell is the vastly superior player on the offensive end, he would start without question on almost every team in the league.
