2021 NBA Scoring Title Watch: Curry wins over Beal!

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Sun Apr 18, 2021 3:48 am

Steph Curry is winning the scoring title. I really want Brad Beal to win it cause the Wizards never win anything. But Curry can’t be stopped.

It's impressive that Beal has been able to lead the league in scoring despite being a below-average 3 point shooter this year. It will be difficult for him to hold Curry off -- especially with Brodie coming on and taking more shots.
Always remember, my friend: the world will change again. And you may have to come back through everywhere you've been.

Beal is going to need to get hot for him to win the scoring title. His current production won't be good enough and I'm worried he is going to start forcing things.

That said, in each of the last two seasons, he really got going over the final stretch and put up unbelievable numbers.

Last year, he averaged 35 points on a .604 TS% over the final 22 games.

The year before, he averaged 28.4 points on a .603 TS% over the final 20 games (before playing limited minutes in the last 4 while tanking). That was a lot for him at the time because he was only a 25 ppg guy before that point

I expect Steph to win the scoring title. He's averaging over 38pts a game over the last 10 games and, given how much GS depends on his scoring, I wouldn't be surprised if he averaged 35 or more a game the rest of the way. It's gonna to be hard for Beal to match that pace.

I'm going to the Zards vs GS game on Wednesday (first game with fans) could be a real shoot out between the two top scorers.

Curry has had two 11 3 point games in the last week a. I still think Beal is battling some form of back sorenness although even Curry hurt his ankle yesterday but played through it.

Curry is freaking unreal!

I just looked at his stats. Not only is he averaging 31 points per game, but he is shooting 57.9% on 2's, 42.7% on 3's (on 12.0 attempts per game!), and 92.2% from the FT line. His TS% is .663! C'mon now. That's not even fair!

He must be the strongest MVP candidate on a sub-.500 team ever. That Warriors team is absolute dreck without him. They're 1-7 in games he misses, and a respectable 27-22 when he plays.

Curry's EFG is 61.4%. That is scary for a guard under any circumstances but even more so for a guy averaging 31 who is the sole focus of every opposing defense.

Boston is a good perimeter defensive team. Smart has always been known as a strong defender and Steph just merked them.

I watched his games against Boston two days ago and Philly tonight. Steph is just f'n unbelievable, a combined 96 points with crazy efficiency.

He takes shots that would be bad shots for almost anyone else but makes them routinely. He is also great at finishing inside. What a show.

I would rather cheer for the tank AND for Beal to win the scoring title. That draft pick is rather important.

Steph Curry has made 54 three pointers over the last 6 games.

For historical context, Larry Bird averaged 54 made three's per season over his career.

It's crazy that Beal is arguably having his best season shooting despite having his worst year from distance.

Curry is having another one of those games. He has 33 so far with 8 minutes to go. He is 7/11 from 3pt range.

Beal has retaken the lead (barely) as Curry has cooled off after an
insanely hot stretch.

I'd rather Beal stop looking-off a wide-open Matthews/Bertans at the corner, and stop trying to score w/o even considering looking to pass.

There's no way Curry can continue this insane hot streak, right?
