Warming up to these scenarios

On the same boat. Barring some sudden changes, he SHOULD still be available around there.

Could you imagine Leo if we end up with Sengun?

Like OG, I think Usman ends up picked in the early 20s and is a steal for some team.

I'm not really seeing it in Garuba, he looks remarkably not-fluid, and stiff offensively.

I've been an OG fan since his college years, had him pegged top 10 pre-injury, had him pegged as a guy MU would like, just assumed he would never get to us at 23. Not that he was doing much advanced stuff in college offensively but his game was still relatively smoother.

Garuba is more like Okongwu.

From a size perspective that makes sense. I guess I just don't see him fitting that Okongwu/Bam archetype because he just doesn't block a ton of shots and is not an elite vertical athlete. He is more lateral quick to me like how OG just can rotate and help so quickly but he isn't a quick run and jump guy.

Herbert Jones, probably projected as a 3+D.
Good length, size and vertical to be the modern forward. His quickness does not seem to be very good, or it could be his footwork, may get blowby. But he should be a capable defender. Not expecting him to expand his 3+D role, as he got a loosen handle.

Hopefully this tanked season will result in a 9th overall pick where we select a franchise changer like Jakob Poetl.

There isn’t much talent late in first rounds like Siakam or OG anyways.

But seriously, unless you’re getting Cade or Suggs, please trade the pick

I'll take my chances with a pick in the top 10. I'd even look to trade up if the option is there.

For every Jakob Poeltl...there is a T-Mac, Kemba Walker, Gordon Hayward, Shawn Marion, Amare Stoudamire, Demar Derozan, Andre Iguodala and Dirk Nowitzki. I'm also high on Rui Hachimura...so if you can get a guy with that potential...that's a solid pick as well.

...and besides...outside of Domantas Sabonis, Caris Levert and Dejounte Murray...I'm not sure who else one might have taken over Jakob at #9. No...Jak isn't the best use of a lottery pick but there turned out to be a lot of duds in the first round of that draft.

He was parlayed into a superstar via trade, that's the best use of a lottery pick short of drafting a superstar.

lol okay I just seen some sengun highlights and we're 100% drafting this guy lol

I think he's actually going to be a superstar tho lol. He's like a Val Jokic hybrid but just a little shorter. He's a 3 level scorer as a big, and a passer.

If we traded up for val we're definitely drafting him if we're outside the top 5.

He's big enough to play the 5 too, he must have long arms if he's only 6'10

Masai didn't draft JV and he passed on Saobonis, id be surprised if we drafted because he's very much not a Masai guy

Did I miss any discussions on Moses Moody? 6'6" freshman who was SEC Freshman of the Year. Big knock on him is he is not so far a shot creator. His drives are straight at the net. So maybe lateral movement is problematic. Slow shot release but apparently excellent form. His calling card - defence. He can be a scorer and led his team in scoring as a freshman and was second in team boards. He is by all accounts the consummate unselfish player who is a good distributor. He is a 6'6" shoting guard with 7'1" wingspan. He def ticks a lot of boxes and he was coached by Eric Musselman and the reports are high bball IQ. He de# sounds like Raptor material. Will be interesting to find out where the Raps rank him among the many shooting guards in the draft.. If we are 10th pick I could see him as our pick for sure.
