Even if he has 3 turnovers and is 0-3 from the field in that minute?

If he gets off 3 shots, and has 3 turnovers in 1 minute, yes he would be ROY, lol.

I'll probably have the 7th pick or so in my Dynasty Fantasy Draft this year. I can keep an 8th keeper (which would be Killian Hayes) and lose that first round pick, or keep the pick and take a rookie. What would you do?

Had to change the thread title since Ant locked up the ROY?

1. Lamelo (obviously)
2. Ant Man
3. Wiseman (they considered team needs, Charlotte would prefer a high upside big rather than someone with a lower ceiling)
4. Pat Williams
5. Haliburton (i think main reason was upside here, Williams projects to have a higher ceiling)
6. Isaiah Stewart
7. Poku
8. Killian Hayes
9. Okongwu (i haven't watched him at all)
10. Jaden McDaniels

The glaring omission here is Quickley, i think he would go 6th easily.

Potential or no potential, if NBA execs got to watch this season before making picks, there is no way in HELL Wiseman goes before Stewart. They are leagues apart as players right now.

So 7th pick among rookies this year vs. Hayes in terms of impact next season. That’s tough. I think it depends on categories.

Killian will be our starting PG next year, although if we end up with Cade or Suggs, it gets more complicated. His offense other than passing needs a ton of work, but he does play good D and rack up steals. I’m not at all sure who the 7th pick will be, what team it will be, or how many minutes they’ll get.

I’d call it a tossup based on the categories you need. Steals and assists? Keep Killian. Buckets? Let him go.

To me, steals and assists (and blocks) are hardest to come by in fantasy, and even though I have Dejounte Murray and Marcus Smart, I wouldn't mind dominating those categories as long as the shooting didn't kill me. Or use one in trade (preferably Smart, but possibly Hayes if someone is really high on him). I expected to keep him for sure but I picked up Saddiq Bey this year and don't think I can drop him. It's a 16 team league so really competitive. Keepers are likely Jokic, Middleton, Dejounte Murray, LeVert, Holmes (didn't necessarily expect this but he is like top 40 value when he plays), Smart, Bey and either keep my 1st round pick or keep someone else, which would probably be Hayes...I used a first round pick on him last year. I had drafted Poku with my last pick (or 2nd to last pick) last year but dropped him. Wonder if I will regret that. I also picked up Maledon and Hampton and still have them but will drop them along with Justin Holiday, Reddish and Zubac...though Zubac has kind of been balling too on occasion.

When was the last co-roy award? This one seems close enough to be the next.

i'll give him the lead till Melo plays 1 or 2 good games, then itll be a blowout again very quickly. kinda says a lot about the gulf in talent that it took that many games off to give him an argument though

I think it's a little puzzling that Lamelo is Rookie of the year. I get there hasn't been a huge crop of outstanding rookies but him missing a third of the season is huge. They were a game below .500 with him, they are pretty much the same without him.

20 games in wins 16.5/7 rebounds/7 assists/1.3 steals - 47.5fg%/44% three/88% ft%
21 games in losses 15.3/5/5/1.9 - 43/31/70

Not eye popping numbers

Ant has already played 23 more games and now that he has help and a healthier roster he is showing he can contribute to a winning team and flourish. Obviously not Lamelo's fault he got injured but being there every single day for your team means a lot.

Last 2 months
13-16(Not too dissimilar from Lamelo)
22.7 ppg
5.3 rpg
3 assists
1.6 steals

43%
32 %3
76% ft

I honestly believe it would be better for Ant not to get ROY. Let him return next season doing his best to prove he should be perceived as better than Lamelo.

Only way he won't be is because of **** Walton.

This kid is a straight stud and you need to lock either Hield or Fox(preferably Hield, what a garbage season he's having)in a closet and give him his goddamn earned usage going forward. He's reached another level out of his already outstanding rookie year after Fox left the rotation.

If the Kings traded Hield at the deadline as they should have, Haliburton would've been the runaway ROY.
Instead he spent most of the season as the 3rd/4th option and having 10 FGA as an average for 3/4 of the year.

Uh huh. Same with Edwards. He was playing for a jr high school coach in Ryan Saunders. What a joke that was. He's blossomed under Finch. Runaway ROY if he had a decent coach and any player around him that was good the first half of the season.
