Agreed, a nice comeback. However teams like the Sun's, Lakers, Bucks wouldn't allow that comeback. Either way good win.

Teams like the Lakers and Bucks just lose to the Hawks instead.

Regardless, plenty of good teams give up big leads in games. Best not to freak out about it when it happens. This was a dominant win.

I guess it's easy to pick faults with your own team when you see these sorts of **** starts. I get the grass is not always greener with other teams. Seeing the same stuff time an again is annoying as hell though.

We're still doing drop coverage.

We still don't have Ben on the best player at the start of the game (it was a dumb excuse by Doc before, and it still is now).

- Having Okongwu failing badly on defense against Embiid and D12, generated a lot of poor body language on the Hawks squad. There was a lot of blaming and pointing fingers among themselves and a lot less teamwork.
- Hawks combo guard duo of Trae and Lou is interesting
- interesting to see Galo not being able to back down GHill, it makes me think there’s some legs of GHill being able to play small ball SF
- nice to see a collective dominant effort from our squad
- Hornets and the Hawks are two teams I’d like to face in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs

From my pov, Biid is dropping/sagging on his PnR defense because he’s conserving energy on offense. Biid can be more active on defense against the two man game on crunch time or when he needs to. You cant just step out because Trae is pretty good in throwing lobs to either collins and capela.

Been thinking a lot about how to defend the two man game. For now, I do have trying to deny the screen, pre switch and simply switching are my favorites to defend this action.

Let Capela post Seth, then throw a double and force him to kick it out. This will force the shotclock to work against them.

Regular season is about trying different stuff out, even if sometimes you think it probably isn’t going to work, while still winning the game. Wouldn’t sweat it.

Despite concerns about our half-court offense, I'm still very excited to see what this team will do in the playoffs.

What do you all think Morey's threshold is for making a big move this summer? Chip? Finals appearance? ECF appearance?
2023-2024 Philadelphia 76ers:

Lowry/Melton/Payne
Maxey/Hield/Council
Oubre/Batum/Martin
Harris/Covington/Wilson

I think the concern about switching that is less about him posting up and more that him and young are excellent at connecting on lobs.

They have been running less drop this year though, it’s been one of the bigger differences under Doc/Burke.

Feel like the best strategy is to run different coverages throughout the game so the offense doesn’t get in a rhythm. It’s like pitching in baseball, even if your curveball isn’t that good it’s still good to throw it sometimes so batters don’t key on your fastball. Every coverage you are going to run probably has some counter that offenses have been doing for decades. That’s part of why Chris Paul is so good, he has an encyclopedic knowledge of every coverage and just does the counter like he’s picking off a menu.

That’s wonderful. The idea of a game thread certainly does seem to elude people, huh?
