Why is that? I still hold it against TT not trading a 4th round pick for Randy Moss. Love if he ever plays in Green Bay will have to live up to his predecessor same as Rodgers did, if this is the reason Rodgers leaves its going to be even more pressure too. The team picking Rodgers happened after he fell from the potential #1 spot, we traded up for Love and it doesn’t even seem like he was even the best QB on the board. The issue isn’t so much trying to develop a QB over a few years as it is taking the guy in the 1st round, its a very confusing decision.
You took him in the first because as long as we have a healthy Rodgers, they didn't feel like they would have a chance to get that caliber of talent. Which regardless of your, my, the pundits, or anyone outside of our front office evaluation of Love, they felt they were in the same exact position of TT did with Favre and they acted accordingly.
That's an underrated point.
I don't get people who prefer to wait until after Rodgers is done to address the need at QB. For one **
gestures around at the last 16 years**. It worked out pretty well the last time.
Second, it would mean a dumpster fire year (at best) hoping to land a high pick in a draft with a great QB prospect.
The alternative is so much better. Love gets to sit, learn, and step in with a championship caliber roster.
